Description:

The Shipping and Receiving Lead is a critical member of the Business Operations team within a defense technology environment. This role is responsible for the accurate receipt, processing, storage, and shipment of materials, components, and finished goods while ensuring compliance with all applicable shipping regulations and company accounting procedures. The position supports production, engineering, procurement and accounting by maintaining precise inventory records, logging transactions in the company accounting system, and ensuring all materials movement is documented, traceable, and audit ready.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a regulated environment where accuracy, security, and compliance are essential.

List of responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

· Receive incoming packages and materials; verify accuracy and place items in designated inventory locations.

· Generate and maintain receiving documentation and related paperwork.

· Conduct regular inventory counts of consumable production supplies and office supplies and assist with placing the orders.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

· Process material returns and manages related documentation.

· Prepare and ship products to customers, vendors, and other company locations.

· Kit and stage materials for production teams in support of manufacturing schedules.

· Perform additional tasks assigned to support the purchasing, accounting and production teams.

· Reconcile purchase orders for open commitments, confirming the quantities received are accurate.

· Complete required documents for international shipping and communicate with transport companies to ensure shipment documentation is accurate.

· Assist in administrative business operation tasks as assigned; (meeting setup, facilities and safety supply inventory and event related task).

Requirements:

Required Skills/Education

· 3+ years prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

· Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work independently with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and urgency.

· Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, walking, stooping, and handling materials (must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. from the ground to a height of 4 feet).

· Strong computer literacy skills, including familiarity with internet searching, Email and Microsoft Office.

· Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

· Effective coordination skills across departments with the ability to lead, coach, prioritize work and support all departments.

· Ability to work in outdoor environments with extreme heat or cold (not typical, but possible).

· U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and retain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Desired Skills/Education (but not required to be considered for hire)

· Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.

· Forklift certification or prior experience operating material-handling equipment.

· Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

· Knowledge of international shipping requirements.
