Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key technical link between FieldAI’s robotics platform, our customers, and our engineering team. You will help ensure FieldAI’s robotic fleet operates reliably in customer environments while turning field observations into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams.
This is a highly practical, customer-facing role with a balanced mix of mechanical/electrical repair, software-based troubleshooting, and operational support..
What You Will Do
Bring up new robots upon receipt from OEMs or manufacturing partners, including initial configuration, quality checks, calibration, and software provisioning.
Monitor and maintain fleet health across deployed assets, ensuring robots are tracked, serviced, and maintained according to FieldAI standards.
Manage inbound and outbound logistics requests from internal teams, including robot shipments, spare parts, tools, and field-service equipment.
Coordinate with operations, engineering, deployment, and customer-facing teams to ensure equipment is prepared, packed, shipped, received, tracked, and documented accurately.
Diagnose, replace, and configure hardware components, including sensors, actuators, compute modules, batteries, wiring harnesses, and electromechanical subsystems.
Perform field diagnostics and root cause analysis to resolve hardware, software, networking, and system-level issues.
Travel to customer sites to lead robot installations, perform repairs, execute upgrades, calibrate systems, and support production deployments.
Maintain clear and structured service logs, diagnostic records, configuration changes, asset movements, shipment status, and field observations.
Partner with Field Application Engineers and engineering teams to deploy software updates, reproduce issues, escalate bugs, and share technical feedback from the field.
Support continuous improvement of service procedures, logistics workflows, technical manuals, troubleshooting guides, and internal documentation.
Operate safely and professionally in industrial, construction, and customer production environments.
