BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 2–6 years hands-on professional experience in test and verification for consumer electronics. Target range, not a hard requirement.
• Strong understanding of verification and validation at the system level, in addition to component and board level.
• Acoustic verification is the primary focus of this role: anechoic chambers, head and torso simulators, microphone and speaker measurement, and hands-on execution of acoustic validation tests.
• Acoustic test development: translating a requirement into a validation test, establishing that the measurement method is sound, and documenting the procedure for repeatable execution by others.
• Audio and acoustic analysis platforms: Audio Precision, Listen Inc. SoundCheck, HEAD acoustics ACQUA / LabCore.
• Audio electronics verification at the board level — speakers, microphones, codecs, amplifiers.
• Measurement rigor: calibration, noise floor, fixture and positioning effects, repeatability, measurement uncertainty.
• Able to create, modify, interpret, review, and execute test plans, and guide others through them.
• Low-speed interfaces as used in wearable consumer devices: I2C, I3C, SPI, UART, GPIO, and audio interfaces (I2S / TDM). Register-level configuration from device datasheets.
• Bench instrumentation: oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply, logic analyzer.
• Root cause analysis and failure diagnostics, including isolating whether a failure originates in the electrical path, the transducer, or the fixture.
• Written communication: ability to write test procedures, reports, and maintain day-to-day coordination with teams across multiple sites and time zones.
• On-site in Redmond, WA. Not open to fully remote work.
• Travel as needed; access to reliable transportation required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical program management: coordinating across the audio development teams and the teams executing verification including logistics, timelines, and issue resolution.
• Willing to learn across all three verification disciplines — electrical, audio electrical, and acoustic — and able to work largely autonomously with minimal supervision after onboarding ramp-up.
• We value self-sufficiency and organization. As you ramp up, the expectation will be to document key processes, tools, and lessons learned so they can easily be revisited later, allowing coaching conversations to build on prior discussions.
• Demonstrated appetite for learning new measurement domains.
• New product introduction experience across EVT, DVT, and PVT build.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position works in a lab environment on new innovative products for the consumer electronics space, in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
• The role is weighted approximately 60% acoustic test development and execution of validation tests, 20% audio electronics verification, and 20% technical program management.
• Test plans generally already exist and are usually modified by others; this role reviews them for technical accuracy and correctly interprets their intent. Where acoustic coverage does not yet exist, this role builds the test and the fixture, and revises existing methods as requirements change.
• Partner teams at other sites own the execution of electrical and audio electronics verification. This role coordinates that work with the verification lead — tracking issues raised against partner teams and reporting their status through written follow-up and task tracking across time zones. Audio electronics verification is also run directly by this role where the need arises.

The salary range for this position is based on national rates. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base Salary: $104,000.00 - $175,000.00. Andrews Cooper is an equal-opportunity employer.
