Sr System Administrator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr System Administrator based in Brazil.

This is a senior infrastructure role for an experienced systems administrator who can take ownership of complex corporate environments and critical technical challenges. You will manage and optimize Windows, Linux, virtualization, storage, networking, backup, and hybrid infrastructure platforms. The role combines day-to-day administration with security hardening, vulnerability remediation, automation, and infrastructure transformation initiatives. You will be expected to investigate complex incidents through structured Root Cause Analysis and drive issues through to resolution. You will also contribute to migrations, infrastructure consolidation, disaster recovery, and technology transformation projects. The position is remote and suited to an autonomous professional who can communicate effectively in English and operate confidently in medium- and large-scale enterprise environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, remote administration, server hardening, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Manage and support enterprise virtualization platforms, including VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Azure IaaS, and vCloud environments.
  • Maintain physical servers, storage platforms, corporate networks, data center infrastructure, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls, including server hardening, vulnerability remediation, compliance corrections, and risk mitigation.
  • Support cloud and virtual desktop environments using technologies such as Citrix, Microsoft RDS, Windows Cloud PC, and VMware Horizon.
  • Manage enterprise backup and recovery environments, with strong experience in Veeam preferred, as well as Wasabi, cloud replication, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts to reduce repetitive operational work, standardize processes, and improve infrastructure efficiency.
  • Administer Linux servers and perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting within corporate environments.
  • Lead or contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex incidents, identifying underlying causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Take ownership of critical infrastructure problems, coordinating resolution across relevant technical teams when necessary.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure standards.
  • Participate in infrastructure migrations, consolidation initiatives, system transformations, and technology modernization projects.
  • Support infrastructure activities related to mergers and acquisitions, including system migrations and environment integration.
  • Contribute to the archival and preservation of legacy ERP systems and associated infrastructure where required.
  • Ensure infrastructure environments remain aligned with corporate security, compliance, operational, and risk-management standards.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Management.
  • Proven experience supporting medium- and large-scale corporate environments.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), remote administration, server hardening, security scripting, and advanced troubleshooting.
  • Solid experience with enterprise virtualization technologies, particularly VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Azure IaaS, and/or vCloud.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security, vulnerability remediation, compliance requirements, hardening practices, and infrastructure risk management.
  • Experience with physical servers, storage, corporate networking, data centers, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with virtual desktop technologies such as Citrix, Microsoft RDS, Windows Cloud PC, or VMware Horizon.
  • Strong backup and disaster recovery experience; hands-on knowledge of Veeam is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Wasabi, cloud replication, enterprise backup solutions, and recovery planning is valuable.
  • Advanced PowerShell skills and proven ability to automate operational tasks and recurring processes.
  • Experience administering Linux environments, with basic to intermediate troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience participating in infrastructure migrations, consolidation, modernization, or transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to IT security, corporate Active Directory environments, infrastructure projects, and M&A-related technology integration is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to conduct structured Root Cause Analysis.
  • High degree of autonomy, ownership, and accountability when managing critical technical issues.
  • Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to establish clear operational standards.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams while independently driving complex infrastructure initiatives.
