Mission Critical Group (MCG) is an end-to-end power solutions and services provider that accelerates time-to-power and delivers scalable, resilient infrastructure for mission critical environments. By integrating engineering, manufacturing, modular deployment, and lifecycle services under one platform, we streamline execution and bring complex projects online faster - without compromising performance. With a robust U.S. manufacturing network, MCG supports data centers, power generation, healthcare, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and industrial facilities where uptime is non-negotiable. Mission Critical Group designs, manufactures and provides value-added services for customers requiring critical power solutions. Powering a new electric world for a brighter, more secure future.

Job Description

The Senior Project Manager owns the end-to-end lifecycle of custom-engineered Power Distribution Center (PDC) interlocking panel buildings from contract award to delivery. Serving as the primary liaison between industrial clients, engineering, procurement, and the factory floor, the PM ensures projects are delivered on time, within technical specifications, and at or above targeted profit margins. The Senior Project Manager owns the end-to-end execution, financial health, and customer satisfaction of assigned custom Power Distribution Center (PDC) building contracts. Operating in a Strong Matrix, the PM holds direct authority over an assigned, dedicated multi-disciplinary design team to drive projects from engineering kickoff to successful customer acceptance and shipping.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant.

  • Design Cell Leadership: Directly manage the daily priorities, scheduling, and engineering output of the assigned Structural and Electrical Designers.
  • Client Interface: Serve as the sole primary point of contact for industrial customers and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, conducting regular progress reviews and coordinating customer-witnessed Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Commercial Protection: Track raw material cost variances against the initial estimate and aggressively execute formal change orders for any client-driven scope modifications.
  • Master Schedule Management: Develop and maintain the project timeline tracking engineering submittals, long-lead equipment deliveries (switchgear, MCCs), work shop fabrication, and final logistics.

Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Structural), Construction Management, or Business with a heavy technical emphasis.
  • 5+ years of dedicated project management experience within custom electrical manufacturing, heavy industrial fabrication, or prefabricated modular buildings.
  • Strong understanding of industrial contracts, delivery terms (Incoterms), and change order negotiations.

Preferred Experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Deep familiarity with technical schemas, wiring diagrams, one-line electrical drawings, and structural fabrication sequences.

Success Measures

  • Adherence to project baseline schedules and milestone delivery dates.
  • Project-level profit margin maintenance and successful change order execution.
  • Customer satisfaction scores and seamless Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) completions.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Alternating work environment between an office desk and the active assembly shop.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during client-witnessed factory testing.
  • Ability to wear required industrial PPE (steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hard hat).
