Position Summary

Mt. Pleasant Window & Remodeling Co. is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Window/Door Measuring Technician to join our team.

This position is responsible for accurately measuring windows and doors, reviewing project specifications, identifying potential installation concerns, documenting jobsite conditions, and completing residential window and door service calls.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, highly detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate professionally with homeowners and our Production and Service Teams.

Key Responsibilities

Window & Door Measuring

  • Accurately measure windows, entry doors, and patio doors.
  • Review contracts, work orders, and project details before completing measurements.
  • Confirm product sizes, styles, colors, configurations, and options.
  • Inspect existing openings and identify potential installation concerns.
  • Take clear, detailed jobsite photographs and upload them according to company procedures.
  • Record accurate measurements, jobsite conditions, and detailed notes.
  • Identify discrepancies, changes, or potential issues before products are ordered.
  • Communicate measurement findings and necessary changes with customers and the Production Team.
  • Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately and promptly.

Window & Door Service

  • Complete scheduled window and door service calls in a professional and timely manner.
  • Inspect and diagnose leaks, drafts, damaged parts, and operating problems.
  • Adjust windows and doors when needed to improve operation and performance.
  • Complete minor repairs when possible.
  • Measure and identify replacement glass, screens, sashes, hardware, and other components.
  • Document service-call findings, measurements, photographs, and recommended solutions.
  • Communicate required parts and repairs to the Service Department.
  • Provide professional and courteous communication with homeowners throughout the service process.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience with windows, doors, remodeling, construction, installation, service, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to read and understand contracts, work orders, and product specifications.
  • Comfortable taking precise measurements and documenting jobsite conditions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and courteous customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with production and service teams.
  • Ability to manage a scheduled route of appointments and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to upload photographs, enter measurements, and complete digital paperwork.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work safely in residential jobsites and navigate a variety of jobsite conditions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25–$30/hour, based on experience
  • Mileage reimbursement ($.70)
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
