Northeast Fire-Rescue (NEFR) is growing, and we're looking for motivated, experienced, and team-oriented Paramedics to join our organization. NEFR provides professional staffing exclusively to 911 Fire and EMS systems, with opportunities available at multiple locations across Connecticut, including Canton, North Branford, and Southbury.
Our Paramedics work directly alongside municipal and volunteer Fire/EMS agencies, becoming an integrated part of the departments and communities they serve. No routine interfacility transports. No facility-to-facility work. Our focus is 911 emergency response.

About the RoleAs an NEFR Paramedic, you'll serve as the highest-level medical provider on emergency calls and provide advanced prehospital care to patients experiencing medical, traumatic, and other time-sensitive emergencies.
You'll work alongside EMTs, firefighters, law enforcement, dispatchers, other Paramedics, and hospital teams to assess, stabilize, treat, and transport patients while making critical decisions in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities- Respond to 911 emergency calls and provide advanced prehospital emergency medical care.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide advanced life support interventions in accordance with Connecticut protocols and medical direction.
- Administer medications and perform advanced procedures within the Paramedic scope of practice.
- Recognize and manage medical, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, traumatic, and other time-sensitive emergencies.
- Serve as the highest-level medical provider and clinical leader when appropriate.
- Safely transport and transfer patients to appropriate receiving facilities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, Fire/EMS personnel, medical control, and receiving facilities.
- Complete accurate, timely, and thorough electronic patient care reports.
- Maintain readiness of assigned vehicles, medical equipment, medications, and supplies.
- Safely lift, move, and assist patients and equipment.
- Represent NEFR and our partnering departments with professionalism, integrity, and respect.
- Valid Connecticut Paramedic License
- Current AHA BLS/CPR Certification
- Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- Valid driver's license
- Current Connecticut Medical Control authorization, or ability to obtain required medical control
- Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with prehospital emergency medical services
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-stress and rapidly changing environments
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in a 911 prehospital EMS system
- Experience working alongside municipal, volunteer, or combination Fire/EMS departments
- Strong clinical decision-making and patient-care skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and public-safety partners
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, humble, and coachable
