Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Enterprise AI and Transformation Architect based in the United States.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on turning enterprise transformation opportunities into scalable AI, automation, integration, and business-system solutions.
You will combine strategic architecture with direct technical delivery, moving initiatives from discovery and prototyping through production and stabilization.
The role spans AI agents, intelligent workflows, enterprise platforms, APIs, integrations, automation, and cross-functional business processes.
You will work closely with executives, business stakeholders, IT teams, and technical leaders to identify opportunities and deliver measurable business value.
A significant portion of the role is dedicated to designing, configuring, building, testing, deploying, and optimizing solutions rather than providing purely strategic guidance.
You will also establish reusable architecture patterns, responsible AI practices, documentation, and implementation standards that enable transformation at scale.
This fully remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced technology leader who enjoys solving complex problems while remaining deeply involved in hands-on delivery.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to identify transformation opportunities, assess feasibility, and translate future-state processes into technical architectures, prototypes, and implementation plans.
- Lead technical delivery from discovery and architecture through development, testing, deployment, stabilization, and ongoing optimization.
- Design, configure, build, and deploy enterprise AI workflows, copilots, intelligent agents, automation solutions, retrieval-augmented applications, and supporting capabilities.
- Engineer prompts, agent instructions, tools, knowledge connections, APIs, guardrails, escalation paths, evaluation methods, and monitoring mechanisms.
- Design and implement enterprise-system configurations, workflows, business rules, data structures, and integrations across ERP, CRM, financial, project management, collaboration, operational, data, automation, and AI platforms.
- Build and troubleshoot API-based and platform-based integrations, addressing authentication, data flows, connectors, integration logic, exception handling, and event-driven processes.
- Create end-to-end solution architectures that balance speed, scalability, security, compliance, maintainability, user experience, and total cost of ownership.
- Rapidly develop proofs of concept and working prototypes, then convert successful concepts into secure, supportable, production-ready solutions.
- Evaluate emerging AI, automation, integration, and enterprise-platform capabilities through practical experimentation and recommend whether to build, buy, configure, integrate, or retire solutions.
- Embed responsible AI, privacy, security, data-use, human-oversight, testing, documentation, release, and support practices into delivered solutions.
- Establish evaluation and quality-assurance approaches for AI outputs, agent behavior, workflow reliability, and exception handling.
- Develop reusable technical patterns, components, integrations, prompt libraries, templates, and implementation playbooks to accelerate future initiatives.
- Communicate architecture options, tradeoffs, risks, progress, and outcomes effectively to executive, business, and technical audiences.
- Serve as a trusted technical partner to senior leadership while directly owning priority transformation initiatives.
- Mentor architects, managers, analysts, and solution teams through design sessions, pairing, reviews, and hands-on problem solving.
- Facilitate alignment across business teams, IT, vendors, and implementation partners without relying on direct authority.
- Support adoption by preparing users, process owners, and support teams for new ways of working and providing appropriate technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
- 8+ years of experience across business transformation, enterprise systems, solution architecture, intelligent automation, systems integration, AI enablement, consulting, or related technology disciplines.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, configuring, building, integrating, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise technology solutions.
- Practical experience developing AI-enabled workflows, copilots, intelligent agents, retrieval-augmented solutions, generative AI applications, or comparable AI capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise business systems and low-code platforms such as ERP, CRM, Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Dynamics, Salesforce, Freshworks, or comparable technologies.
- Strong experience designing, building, and troubleshooting API-based integrations, including REST APIs, authentication, data flows, integration patterns, connectors, and event-driven processes.
- Ability to turn ambiguous business challenges into practical technical solutions, working prototypes, and production implementations.
- Experience designing human-and-AI workflows, prompts, tools, guardrails, evaluation methods, exception handling, and operational support models.
- Ability to move comfortably between executive strategy, workshop facilitation, solution architecture, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and technical support.
- Strong executive communication, facilitation, documentation, presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex cross-functional initiatives in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Experience in life sciences, healthcare, GxP, SOX, or similarly regulated environments is preferred.
- A portfolio or examples of personally delivered AI, automation, integration, or enterprise-system solutions is strongly preferred.
- Enterprise architecture, cloud, Microsoft, AI, automation, Lean, Six Sigma, or related certifications are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, operations, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Advanced certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud, automation, AI, or related disciplines are a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings, training, and conferences.
- Annual salary of $115,000–$130,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Fully remote work within the United States.
- Flexible work schedules designed to support work-life balance.
- Generous vacation policy.
- Affordable healthcare coverage.
- Annual bonus opportunity.
- Supportive workplace culture with a strong focus on employee well-being.
- Opportunities to work on enterprise AI, automation, transformation, and technology initiatives with broad organizational impact.
