Keep Our Fleet Ready to Roll

Banks Construction is looking for a dependable, self-motivated Wash & Light Maintenance Technician to join our Transportation Department.

In this hands-on role, you’ll help operate our truck pit stop and fleet yard, making sure company trucks and vehicles return from the field clean, fueled, inspected, and ready for the next shift. You’ll also help identify equipment issues and perform minor repairs and basic maintenance as needed.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working around trucks and equipment, takes pride in their work, and can take initiative while working independently.

Our Transportation Department plays an important role in keeping our crews and projects moving by ensuring our fleet is safe, reliable, and ready to work.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate a mobile pressure washer to clean trucks, trailers, and company vehicles, removing dirt, mud, asphalt, and other debris.
  • Fuel trucks and company vehicles as they return to the yard so they are ready for the next shift.
  • Perform basic visual inspections of trucks and equipment to identify mechanical, safety, or operational concerns.
  • Complete minor repairs and basic maintenance within the scope of the position.
  • Identify and document major defects and communicate them to the Transportation Department and Shop for corrective action.
  • Inspect readily observable safety components, including lights, mirrors, tires, mud flaps, tailgates, and related equipment.
  • Keep truck beds, tailgates, and tailgate aprons clean and free of material and debris.
  • Maintain pressure-washing, fueling, and other equipment used to perform daily duties.
  • Keep the fleet yard, wash area, and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all Banks Construction safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
  • Support the Transportation team with additional fleet and yard needs as required.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, notices the small details, and understands the importance of keeping equipment safe and ready for our crews.

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience working with commercial trucks, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential safety or mechanical issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative.
  • Ability to safely operate pressure-washing and fueling equipment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, reach, climb, and remain active throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and handle hoses, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to work second shift and adjust working hours as operational needs require.
