Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer – Java/C++ & Cryptography with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
In this role, you will support an ongoing software development effort focused on productizing a mission-focused product suite for deployment beyond the current customer environment and across the broader Department of Defense (DoD) community. You will contribute to removing customer-specific dependencies, abstracting environment-specific configurations, and developing interfaces that enable authorization workflows and key management operations across a variety of customer environments.
The effort spans major components of the ecosystem, including clients, Portal, Proxy services, and OpenBao-based key management services, with a focus on Java development, cryptography, key management, and secure software solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the productization of a mission-focused software suite for deployment across broader DoD environments.
- Remove customer-specific dependencies and abstract environment-specific configurations.
- Develop interfaces that enable authorization workflows and key management operations across a variety of customer environments.
- Support software development efforts across clients, Portal, Proxy services, and OpenBao-based key management services.
- Lead changes to build Encryption Libraries and Key Management Services.
- Support the migration of code from Low to High environments.
- Establish and apply best practices to support successful implementation of solution designs.
- Collaborate with project teams through communication, planning documentation, system testing, and defect resolution.
- Manage day-to-day efforts toward project accomplishments.
- Participate in project planning and project status communications.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- United States citizenship required.
- Twelve (12) or more years of working experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
- Eight (8) or more years of Java development experience on both Linux and Windows platforms.
- Experience with C or C++.
- Five (5) or more years of cryptographic experience with a strong understanding of key management.
- Proficiency in at least one additional high-level programming language, preferably Python, Go, or Rust.
- Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients.
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community environments as a contractor.
- JavaScript experience.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience with modern software development management.
- Understanding of Agile methodology.
- Five (5) or more years of experience with REST APIs.
- Two (2) years of experience with cloud platforms, tools, and administration.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to follow through and work effectively with team members.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and take ownership of assigned portions of a project or initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
