Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to own the cost accounting function for our
metallization and separation operations. You will build and maintain our standard cost structure,
own inventory valuation and overhead allocation, and give operations leaders a clear, trusted
picture of what it actually costs us to produce.

The ideal candidate has owned cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, is as
comfortable on the production floor as in the ledger, and wants to stand up a costing model in a
business where the process itself is still being optimized.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Standard Costing: Build, maintain, and update standard costs across raw materials, labor,
and overhead; own the annual standard cost roll.
  • Production Variances: Analyze purchase price, material usage, labor, and overhead
variances; investigate root causes with operations and report findings to leadership.
  • Inventory Valuation: Own inventory valuation across raw materials, work in process, and
finished goods, including reserves for excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Overhead Allocation: Design and maintain overhead absorption methodologies across sites
    and production lines
  • Cycle Counts: Oversee cycle count programs and physical inventory procedures; investigate
    and resolve discrepancies.
  • Margin Analysis: Provide product-level and process-level cost and margin analysis to
support pricing, capital, and process decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Work directly with production, engineering, supply chain, and
procurement to ensure BOMs, routings, and cost inputs reflect reality.
  • Close and Audit: Own cost-related close activities, reconciliations, and audit schedules.
  • Grants: Support cost accounting on sponsored and government-funded programs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 7+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Deep expertise in standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and overhead
    absorption.
  • Strong working knowledge of BOMs, routings, and manufacturing operations.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite ERP or a comparable system; advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience partnering directly with plant and operations leadership.
  • Willingness to spend time on the production floor to understand the process behind the
    numbers.
  • Experience in a startup, scale-up, or greenfield manufacturing environment is a plus.
