As a Financial Professional, you will work directly with clients to understand their goals, identify their financial needs, and provide insurance and financial solutions designed to help protect what matters most and prepare for the future. You’ll have the opportunity to build your own client base and practice while receiving training, resources, mentorship, and support from New York Life.
What You’ll DoDevelop relationships with prospective clients through networking, referrals, and community involvement
Meet with individuals, families, and business owners to understand their financial goals and needs
Educate clients on insurance and financial solutions
Recommend appropriate solutions based on each client’s individual circumstances
Build and manage your own book of business
Provide ongoing service and develop long-term client relationships
Participate in professional training, development, and licensing programs
Grow your practice through disciplined prospecting, relationship building, and business development

Previous financial services experience is not required. Candidates with backgrounds in sales, business development, management, entrepreneurship, education, athletics, military service, or other relationship-driven professions may find their skills transfer well to this career.
Training & DevelopmentNew York Life provides access to comprehensive training and professional development designed to help Financial Professionals build the knowledge and skills necessary to develop their practice. Training includes areas such as client relationship management, marketing, business development, financial products, and professional licensing.

Compensation:$80,000 - $120,000 average first year salary
Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients to understand their financial goals, needs, and priorities.
- Develop and present personalized financial strategies and recommendations.
- Help clients implement solutions, including insurance, investments, and savings strategies.
- Build long-term client relationships through ongoing service and financial guidance.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, recommendations, and financial plans.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented
- Business-driven mindset with a desire to build a career
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to obtain required state insurance licenses and registrations, as applicable
