Job Description
KDG Construction Consulting is seeking an experienced Construction Logistics Specialist to provide construction logistics, temporary wayfinding, and operational coordination support for complex transportation, infrastructure, and large-scale construction programs. This individual will support construction management teams by developing and implementing temporary wayfinding strategies, evaluating construction impacts, coordinating logistics activities, reviewing project documentation, and enhancing user experience throughout active construction environments. The Construction Logistics Specialist will work collaboratively with project leadership, construction management teams, consultants, contractors, operations personnel, and stakeholders to develop effective wayfinding solutions, minimize disruptions, and support successful project execution across multiple concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and oversee temporary wayfinding strategies that support pedestrian flow, user experience, and safe navigation throughout active construction environments.
• Evaluate signage quality, visual appeal, placement, and adherence to project standards while recommending appropriate signage types and solutions.
• Manage multiple collaborative wayfinding and construction logistics projects involving multidisciplinary teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Review and interpret project schedules, Gantt charts, design plans, phasing plans, and site logistics plans to identify wayfinding impacts and coordination requirements.
• Evaluate signage needs based on construction activities, environmental factors, operational requirements, and user expectations to maintain effective wayfinding.
• Review project submittals, including phasing plans and site logistics plans, to identify wayfinding impacts and operational considerations.
• Develop concepts, location plans, maps, and proposed wayfinding paths of travel that effectively communicate construction impacts and support user navigation.
• Support the planning, production, installation, and maintenance of temporary wayfinding materials to ensure clear and effective communication.
• Perform regular site walks and field observations to evaluate signage effectiveness, identify deficiencies, and recommend updates to wayfinding plans.
• Track phasing, production, and installation schedules across multiple projects to ensure timely completion and coordinated execution.
• Verify quality, consistency, readability, and visual standards of signage and wayfinding elements.
• Develop and format wayfinding plans, maps, newsletters, flyers, stakeholder updates, presentations, and other visual communication materials.
• Apply visual hierarchy, consistency, readability, typography, color theory, and information design principles to create clear and professional materials.
• Prepare written communications, reports, presentations, and project documentation for project teams, leadership, and stakeholders.
• Support project leadership with construction logistics coordination, operational reviews, field assessments, and special assignments.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction logistics, wayfinding, infrastructure, transportation, aviation, or complex building programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or a related technical field.
• Experience supporting complex infrastructure, transportation, aviation, or large-scale construction programs involving multiple concurrent projects and operational constraints.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing temporary wayfinding strategies that support pedestrian flow, user experience, and safe navigation.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders, while managing multiple deadlines in a dynamic project environment.
• Ability to interpret and analyze construction drawings, design plans, project schedules, Gantt charts, phasing plans, site logistics plans, and other technical documentation.
• Experience evaluating construction activities, environmental factors, and operational impacts to develop effective signage and wayfinding solutions.
• Strong knowledge of signage materials, fabrication methods, color theory, typography, font specifications, mapping standards, and temporary wayfinding industry best practices.
• Experience reviewing project submittals, construction phasing plans, and logistics documentation to identify coordination and operational impacts.
• Strong visualization, conceptual development, location planning, and information design skills.
• Experience supporting the planning, production, installation, and field evaluation of temporary wayfinding systems.
• Excellent written, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical and field-based information to project teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting complex operational environments, transportation programs, aviation facilities, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing temporary signage, wayfinding, pedestrian circulation, and construction impact mitigation strategies.
• Experience reviewing construction phasing plans, logistics plans, and operational impact documentation.
• Experience developing wayfinding plans, maps, newsletters, flyers, stakeholder communications, presentations, and other visual materials.
• Experience with signage production coordination, fabrication processes, and installation procedures.
• Experience using project controls software and document management systems.
• Professional certifications such as AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, CCM, or other relevant industry credentials.
Anticipated Salary Range: $120,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
