ImageCare is seeking a Part-Time Ultrasound Technologist for our Jefferson location. All new hires are required to attend first-day orientation at our Mount Olive office before reporting to their assigned work location or training site.
The Schedule we are looking to fill:
Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm, weekday evening shifts 4:00pm - 9:00pm optional.
Initial training:
Days and times will be discussed and agreed upon between the manager/supervisor and the employee.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Performs US procedures for referring physicians of a quality that aids in the diagnosis of the patient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform ultrasound diagnostic procedures/ examinations on patients of all ages including the administration of contrast material as assigned in accordance with established guidelines in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination and treatment providing the highest patient care.
- Order supplies for ultrasound tests.
- Address patients’ needs and questionsas they arise in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Always verify patient with exam order and study to be performed prior to placing patient on the scanning table.
- Organize and document all aspects of assigned patient care in coordination with referring physician and the radiologist to ensure accurate and timely performance of procedures.
- Knowledge of scheduling procedures for US
- Maintenance and organization of patient film file records in our EMR and on site as needed.
- Handling patient priors as needed.
- Checking and verifying exam with EMR order vs Rx
- Verifying images, notes, authorization number if pertinent to patient exams.
- Verifying Physician study routing preferences.
- Scan in patient paperwork and verify exams in PACS with all necessary information for Radiologist to read exam.
- Maintain continuing education units as required to ensure ARRT certification.
- Maintain clean and stocked work area.
- Maintain HIPAA practices and HIPAA training.
Candidates must be able to perform ALL Ultrasound exams including:
- General Ultrasound and Ob/Gyn
- Vascular
- Breast Ultrasound
Requirements:
- At least one year working at a hospital experience or working independently is preferred.
- Basic vascular knowledge (venous doppler and carotids) and breast ultrasound experience is a plus.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer License (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
