General Laborer in Wenatchee, Washington at Eagle Transfer

Job Description:

Eagle Transfer Co. is seeking a hard working individual for a Full-Time Driver and Laborer position. Need a self-starter who can complete time sensitive job tasks with minimal supervision.

This driver-mover position performs tasks including, but not limited to, driving company vehicles, packing, loading, delivering and unpacking household and office furniture.

This position will work with a variety of equipment including company vehicles, hand trucks, moving dollies, walk-boards (ramps), pallet jacks, lift-gates and forklifts. Duties may change with advancement of skills.

Preference will be give to candidates who possess an active and valid drivers license.

Essential Functions:

• Operate company vehicles safely moving from job to job.
• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor moving furniture and heavy objects.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds safely and properly.
• Load and unload trucks and moving vans in a variety of weather conditions.
• Pack and unpack boxes including fragile items such as china and crystal.
• Properly blanket wrap furniture for safe transport.
• Ensure proper safety procedures and bring problems to attention of the lead on the job.
• Be able to follow directions.

Physical Demands:

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects using leg, abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with days and hours of work that normally occur Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

-Pass pre-employment background check and potential drivers license background check.

Compensation: $22.00/hour

Pay advancement opportunities after 90 days of employment based on performance.
