The Field Technician will gain knowledge and experience on above ground pipeline assessment and cathodic protection systems utilizing the best-in-class technologies and equipment.

POSITION SUMMARY

Corrosion Field Technician will gain knowledge and experience on above ground pipeline assessment and cathodic protection systems utilizing the best-in-class technologies and equipment.

Candidates from Houston, TX and the surrounding areas are preferred.

WHAT YOU'RE RESPONSIBLES FOR:

  • Support team leads in conducting various field tests to gather data for evaluation purposes
  • Attend daily safety and planning meeting in the morning
  • Daily equipment calibrations and setup
  • Assist with data collection (run the line locator and backpack)
  • Maintain the equipment assigned to you and that is used throughout the projects you work on
  • Assemble field data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations
  • Correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner with customers
  • Represent Corrpro in a professional manner, with a high degree of respect for all existing and potential customers
  • Assist with all aspects of data collection and reporting by the requirements of the current procedure
  • Complete time and expenses accurately and completely, and submit electronic data to server by Monday 12:00 pm (noon), and hard copies of expense reports and receipts to be mailed no later than Tuesday of each week
  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Education and/or Experience: AMPP CP1 or CP2. CP2 & CIP (1 or 2) certifications highly desirable. 3 or more years of professional experience, with mix of field and people leadership preferred. Corrosion Control experience is required. Must have strong communication and problem-solving skills. Strong team and internal customer service skills are a must. Incumbents must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic mathematical concepts.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Leadership Skills: Position requires individual to have strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and empower, to be a strong communicator able to take initiative and function independently. Must be capable of making people management decisions and comfortable in a management position.
  • Personal Attributes: Possesses and applies comprehensive engineering knowledge of engineering principles to the completion of complex assignments. Willingness to continue learning in a complex, dynamic environment. Communication and interpersonal relationship building skills required.
  • Computer-Based: Ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, software platforms, field-related technology and presentation software. Ability to learn new applications quickly. Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point) required.
