Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fixed Operations Manager, under the direction of Senior Management, oversees not only the service department, but also the parts department and body shop. The Fixed Operations Manager is responsible for the reputation, efficiency and profitability of these departments. The Fixed Operations Manager must possess 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in dealership and fixed operations role, and strong leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage daily activities and schedules based on priorities and customer needsDirect the hiring and training of internal and road techniciansWork with department managers to improve profitability and efficiencyCreate and maintain a positive relationship with customers, ensuring that department staff is helpful, as well as making customer satisfaction a priority to ensure referral and repeat businessWork directly with customers and warranty staff to administer warranty claims, as well as understanding and applying warranty guidelinesEnsure that service repairs are performed efficiently and correctly by conducting spot checks on jobsWork with Service Director to ensure customer vehicles are fixed correctly and within timeframe the first timeOther duties as requested by corporate Senior Management

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

3 to 5 years of progressive experience in commercial vehicle or dealership parts / service / fixed operations experienceCDK Global DMS experience highly preferredStrong formal and informal leadership skillsA clear and solid understanding of the issues faced by the organization and the commercial vehicle business strongly preferredExcellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stressAbility to build and maintain lasting relationships with key external stakeholdersAbility to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problemsAbility to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policiesDemonstrated experience coordinating strategic and engagement planning initiativesKnowledge of budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and schedulingStrong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHighly professional and dependableSafety and customer service orientedStrong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
