Ridgeland, Mississippi | Full-Time
Health Care Medical Infusion Specialties is seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our team as Pharmacy Manager. This is a hands-on leadership position supporting specialty pharmacy, home infusion, and ambulatory infusion services.
The Pharmacy Manager will work closely with the Director of Clinical Pharmacy to manage daily pharmacy operations, provide clinical and operational oversight, support pharmacy staff, and maintain compliance with USP <797>, accreditation standards, and state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily pharmacy workflow and provide leadership and support to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other team members
- Prepare and dispense medications, including sterile compounded infusions, according to prescriber orders and pharmacy protocols
- Review and verify prescriptions, medication profiles, and patient-specific therapy plans for clinical appropriateness, accuracy, and completeness
- Support safe and effective infusion therapy through appropriate dosing, laboratory monitoring, clinical review, and documentation
- Oversee sterile compounding operations and ongoing compliance with USP <797>
- Support home infusion therapies, including antibiotics, parenteral nutrition, inotropes, pain management, biologics, and other specialty medications
- Counsel patients on their medications, potential side effects, administration, and treatment expectations
- Collaborate with nurses, prescribers, pharmacy technicians, intake, reimbursement, and other members of the care team to support excellent patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with ACHC accreditation standards, Board of Pharmacy requirements, USP standards, DSCSA, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Assist with policies and procedures, staff training, quality activities, corrective actions, and continuous survey readiness
- Participate in inspections, audits, staff education, and on-call coverage as scheduled
- Help manage inventory, purchasing, medication availability, recalls, and drug-supply issues
- Support licensing and regulatory compliance for a pharmacy operating in multiple states
- Identify workflow concerns and help develop practical, compliant solutions
- Participate in the implementation and improvement of pharmacy technology and operational processes
- Serve as a dependable pharmacist and operational resource when the Director of Clinical Pharmacy is unavailable
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy program
- Active pharmacist license in Mississippi or eligibility to obtain Mississippi licensure
- Experience with sterile compounding and working knowledge of current USP <797> requirements
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to lead a team, prioritize competing responsibilities, and manage daily operations independently
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability and willingness to obtain additional state pharmacist licenses as needed
- Willing to obtain pharmacist licensure in multiple states
- Previous pharmacy management or supervisory experience
- Experience in home infusion, specialty pharmacy, ambulatory infusion, or another complex pharmacy setting
- Pharmacist licensure in multiple states
- Experience with ACHC or another pharmacy accreditation organization
- Knowledge of USP <800>, DSCSA, specialty medications, biologic therapies, and parenteral nutrition
- Familiarity with pharmacy workflow, inventory, clinical documentation, and reimbursement processes
