Job Summary
ANPC is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller to lead all daily accounting operations, financial controls, and cost accounting for our high-precision manufacturing facility in Hood River, OR. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role requires a candidate with a proven track record in a manufacturing or defense environment to ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and precise inventory and WIP tracking. The Controller acts as an operational finance partner, providing real-time cost insights to production and engineering teams while maintaining strict compliance with industry and regulatory standards (ITAR, EAR, AS9100).

This role is 100% on-site in Hood River, OR (not remote eligible).

Essential Job Functions
• Financial Management & Reporting: Direct month-end and year-end close processes; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Cost Accounting & Operational Finance: Monitor Cost of Quality (scrap, rework, concessions) and track Work-In-Progress (WIP) and inventory levels to optimize cash flow and production throughput.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensure company financial workflows strictly adhere to ITAR, EAR, and AS9100 standards. Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and sales/use tax compliance.
• Operational Integration: Participate in project kick-offs and alignment meetings to deliver weekly cost data to project managers, enabling clear technical focus without administrative delay.
• Accounting Operations: Oversee accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Evaluate and optimize accounting software (e.g., Sage 100) and workflows to drive automation, standardization, and process documentation.
• Planning & Analysis: Assist the CEO with annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis against actual performance.
• Direct Supervision & Functional Oversight: Directly supervise the part-time AP/Office Administrator and provide executive oversight of the HR function.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
• Bachelors in Accounting, Business Management and/or Finance.
• 5-7 years of accounting leadership in manufacturing, aerospace, defense or a high-precision production environment.
• Career showing progressive experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
• Expert in GAAP, internal controls, and cost accounting (job costing, WIP, inventory). Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, AS9100, and FAR/CAS preferred.
• Proficient in Sage (or similar ERPs) with a drive to streamline and automate accounting workflows.
• Highly detail-oriented and collaborative, with strong communication skills to partner effectively with engineering and project teams.
• Patient, accountable, and committed to high ethical standards in a fast-paced environment.
