The Role:
The Employment Specialist II plays a key role in empowering individuals through employment support services. The position focuses on helping participants achieve economic mobility by providing job readiness training, career coaching, employer referrals, and wraparound support. This position requires a client-centered approach, strong organizational skills, and a proactive attitude toward workforce development.

Note: Depending on the assigned programs in Miami-Dade County, this position could be required to pass a Level 2 Background Clearance. Access to correctional institutions may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct initial intake and eligibility screening for program enrollment.
• Administer assessments to evaluate participant skills, interests, certifications, and employment barriers.
• Develop and manage individualized employment plans (IEPs) in collaboration with participants, ensuring alignment with labor market demands.
• Facilitate employment readiness workshops on topics such as resume building, professional communication, workplace ethics, and time management.
• Provide one-on-one job coaching and mock interviews to improve participant confidence and readiness.
• Maintain current knowledge of job opportunities, labor trends, and local hiring needs.
• Identify and refer participants to training and certification programs that support career advancement.
• Build and maintain relationships with local employers, staffing agencies, and training providers.
• Coordinate job placements, schedule interviews, and provide job leads based on participant qualifications.
• Monitor participant progress and provide retention support after placement, including addressing job-related challenges.
• Track all services, outcomes, and employer contacts using the organization’s case management system and submit reports as required.
• Coordinate and participate in career fairs, hiring events, and employer roundtables.
• Engage in community outreach to recruit participants and promote program services.
• Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to provide holistic support including housing, legal aid, mental health services, and childcare.
• Provide consistent follow-up and post-employment support to help clients sustain employment and achieve long-term goals.
• Meet programmatic goals related to enrollments, placements, and retention as outlined by funders and agency leadership.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback and suggestions to program leadership.

Skills & Qualities:
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with both participants and employers.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online job search platforms.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Passion for helping others achieve economic mobility, self-sufficiency, and long-term success.
Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business, or a related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
• 2–3 years of experience in workforce development, career counseling, or case management.
• Experience working with underrepresented populations, including those with employment barriers (e.g., justice-involved, youth, or individuals with limited education).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and meet performance-based outcomes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and workforce software platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Employ Florida).
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
