Purchasing Manager
The Purchasing Manager at Salcomp Manufacturing is responsible for leading the procurement team to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services required for production. This role focuses on optimizing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, managing risks, and aligning procurement strategies with company goals to support operational efficiency and profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Procurement
Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to ensure a resilient supply chain.
Align purchasing activities with Salcomp’s production schedules and business objectives.
Supplier Management
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers (e.g., electronic components, plastics, packaging).
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
Cost Control & Budgeting
Monitor material costs, analyze variances, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Collaborate with finance and production teams to manage procurement budgets.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the purchasing team, ensuring adherence to policies and KPIs.
Foster cross-functional collaboration with production, logistics, and quality teams.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations (e.g., ISO, REACH), and ethical sourcing standards.
Mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., shortages, geopolitical factors) through contingency planning.
Systems & Processes
Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to streamline procurement workflows.
Implement best practices for inventory control and order accuracy.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience:
5+ years in procurement/purchasing, preferably in electronics manufacturing or related industries.
Proven experience in managing high-volume procurement for components like chargers, cables, or precision parts.
Skills:
Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
Knowledge of global supply chains and import/export regulations.
Language: Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin or other languages is a plus.
Familiarity with Salcomp’s product lines (e.g., smartphone chargers, IoT devices).
Certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is advantageous.
Cost savings achieved through procurement initiatives.
Supplier on-time delivery rate and quality performance.
Inventory turnover ratio and reduction in lead times.
