Ultrasonographer

The Sonographer integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information. The Sonographer plays a critical role in the delivery of health services by performing the ultrasound examinations that creates the images needed for diagnosis.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Licensure: Must be registry eligible with RDMS or ARRT or become registered within one year of employment, Specialty registry in discipline preferred (i.e. RVT, US B). Specialty registry may be required in particular areas due to requirements by accrediting bodies.

Education and/or Experience: Must have completed a program of Ultrasound training, recognized by RDMS or ARRT, BS preferred. Specialty registry in discipline preferred. Must be or become CPR certified. 1-3 years experience as an ultrasonographer in a hospital setting is preferred. (Previous hospital experience in area of specialty preferred.)
