About This Position
Description:
A medical assistant is responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing patient care. They perform administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth running of the healthcare facility. The duties of a medical assistant include:
- Recording patient medical history and vital signs
- Preparing patients for medical examinations
- Assisting healthcare professionals during medical procedures
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Performing basic laboratory tests
- Administering medications and injections as directed by healthcare professionals
- Preparing and maintaining medical equipment
- Performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining patient records
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant training program
- Certification as a medical assistant
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical records
