About This Position

Job Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, serves as a working lead coordinating activities of other cooks working in the same area or tasks. Oversees daily operations in Nutrition Services in a specific area or project.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Formal culinary/food preparation training strongly preferred.
  • Experience
    • Three or more years commercial cooking experience required.
    • 1 year of supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
  • Licensure and/or Certification
    • ServeSafe Certification preferred.
    • Skills
    • Demonstrated safe and sanitary working practices.
    • Ability to maintain confidential information.
    • Ability to read, understand and follow written menus, recipes instructions and food.
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
    • May adapt procedures, processes, tools and technique to meet the requirements of the position.
    • Applies knowledge of the department policies and procedures and utilizes general understanding of other departments’ functions.
    • Ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees.
