About This Position
Job Summary
Reporting to the Production Manager, serves as a working lead coordinating activities of other cooks working in the same area or tasks. Oversees daily operations in Nutrition Services in a specific area or project.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Formal culinary/food preparation training strongly preferred.
- Experience
- Three or more years commercial cooking experience required.
- 1 year of supervisory or demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
- Licensure and/or Certification
- ServeSafe Certification preferred.
- Skills
- Demonstrated safe and sanitary working practices.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to read, understand and follow written menus, recipes instructions and food.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- May adapt procedures, processes, tools and technique to meet the requirements of the position.
- Applies knowledge of the department policies and procedures and utilizes general understanding of other departments’ functions.
- Ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures in a manner easily understood by fellow employees.
