Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in San Antonio, Texas at University Health System- San Antonio

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides assessments, counseling, education and referrals to patients with chemical dependency issues. Promotes rapport between patients and their families. Assists patients in identifying their psychological, personal and environmental challenges related to substance abuse in order to achieve maximum therapeutic and functional capacity. Acts as a member of multidisciplinary mental health teams.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or G.E.D. required and one-year experience preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Licensed as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse. Licensure must be current at all times.
