REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST-PNS in Conway, South Carolina at Conway Medical Center

Position Summary: The Registered Respiratory Therapist- PNS (RRT) will perform and evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures in accordance with physician orders. The RRT will be responsible for performing procedures including but not limited; endotracheal intubation, extubations, tracheotomy tube changes, capnography monitoring. Other duties include; evaluating appropriateness of medical orders, transporting patients requiring mechanical ventilation or airway protection, assuring safe operations of devices in the MRI, and assisting with Bronchoscopy. The RRT will be responsible for the orientation and training of Certified Respiratory Therapist. The RRT will be proficient in the application of mechanical ventilator modalities, Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NPPV); Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP).

Education:

• Associates Degree (AS) in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Respiratory Therapy preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 6 months of clinical experience following graduation from a respiratory care program required.
• Two years post-graduate respiratory care experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• Current License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of South Carolina required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Association for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment
