Senior Accountant in San Antonio, Texas at University Health System- San Antonio

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs duties within the area of Financial Accounting, which requires a sound knowledge of accounting principles and theory. Completes assigned duties related to cash receipts, cash disbursements, audit work-papers and HHSC reporting in a timely and accurate manner. Works in other areas of the Finance Department where advanced accounting training is required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

A bachelor's degree with major in accounting, finance, and/or business administration is required. A masters degree with major in accounting, finance, and/or business administration is preferred. Five year’s post-degree accounting experience is required. Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and the use of advanced functions in Excel such as pivot tables, VLookup, Sumif, etc. Able to reconcile large volumes of data
