Do you have what it takes to be a Neurology Medical Assistant:
- Completion of a MA education program required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- 1-2 years of relevant experience required
- Active BLS required
- Willing to travel to different offices (Mt. Orab, Wilmington, Washington Court House and Loveland are primary locations)
Medical Assistants are an essential part of our team and make a real difference in people’s lives. They fulfill patient care duties and administrative tasks, liaising between patients and physicians.
- Intakes patients who may have mobility limitations, balance concerns, cognitive impairment, tremors
- Reviews and reconciles medications commonly used in neurology
- Prepares patients for testing or procedures
- Assists providers with procedures and treatments within scope, which may include injections, medication administration, or other clinic-specific procedures
- Provides patient education
- Prepares and maintains clean, fully supplied exam rooms
- Monitors providers In Box and PAQ. Returns calls as directed by Clinician following SOP.
- Coordinates referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling
