This role is an opportunity to help build and scale environmental compliance capabilities within a fast-growing clean energy organization. You will support critical permitting and compliance activities, with a particular focus on air quality regulations, reporting, and operational requirements. The position combines environmental expertise with process improvement, data management, automation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with Operations, O&M, Sales, Project Delivery, and other stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into practical actions. Your work will help strengthen compliance systems, improve audit readiness, and support safe and efficient operations. The role is well suited to a proactive, detail-oriented professional who enjoys combining technical rigor with practical execution.

• Provide practical guidance to internal teams on environmental compliance and permitting requirements, particularly air quality regulations and reporting obligations.
• Partner with Operations and O&M teams to embed environmental compliance into daily activities and longer-term operational planning.
• Monitor emerging regulatory requirements and risks, translating them into clear actions, documentation, deadlines, and internal processes.
• Develop and improve scalable compliance workflows, including permit tracking, reporting processes, documentation standards, and integration with the Environmental Management System (EMS).
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy through automation, dashboards, scripts, databases, and other digital tools.
• Develop and maintain Permit Action Plans covering permit acquisition, renewals, operational activities, and ongoing compliance obligations.
• Own and maintain air emissions tracking dashboards, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and timely visibility for internal stakeholders.
• Maintain environmental compliance records and data across enterprise systems, ensuring documentation, timelines, monitoring data, and reporting outputs remain complete and audit-ready.
• Support Source Testing activities by coordinating schedules, contractors, site logistics, and protocol review, while tracking and analyzing results to identify potential compliance risks.
• Coordinate Portable Analyzer Checks and contribute to digital tools that standardize and simplify field documentation.
• Track maintenance and replacement schedules for environmental control equipment and monitoring instruments.
• Develop guidance, training materials, playbooks, and best practices that help operational teams consistently execute environmental compliance requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in environmental compliance, air quality management, environmental permitting, regulatory affairs, or a closely related field.
• Working knowledge of major air quality regulations and programs, including Title V, NSPS, NESHAP, the Clean Air Act, and relevant CARB requirements such as PERP and CARB DG.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operational actions.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple compliance activities, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop clear documentation, guidance, and training materials for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proactive and business-minded approach, with the ability to identify process improvements and work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Comfort working with compliance data, reporting systems, dashboards, and digital tools, with an interest in automation and continuous improvement.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, O&M, Project Delivery, Sales, and other cross-functional teams.

• Annual base salary of $86,000–$122,000, adjusted based on employee location, experience, education, and relevant skills.
