Pay Grade: 11

Under the general supervision of the Medical Director, the Director of Health Homes and Special Projects is responsible for the planning, growth, overall administration, and oversight of Medicaid Health Home programs at DWIHN, and project management of special project initiatives which fall outside standard departmental workflows. Health Home activities include the Behavioral Health Home (BHH) and SUD Health Home (SUDHH). This Director’s “Special Projects” function coordinates teams and resources to ensure strategic projects are delivered on time in alignment with organizational goals. This role includes supervision of staff and the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of DWIHN policies, procedures, and practices.
• Knowledge of the DWIHN provider network and community resources.
• Knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code.
• Knowledge of MDHHS policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Knowledge of Federal policies, rules, regulations, and procedures as it relates to DWIHN.
• Knowledge of behavioral health and mental health principles and practices.
• Knowledge of and ability to adhere to Professional Code of Ethics.
• Knowledge of and ability to comply with HIPAA security standards to ensure the privacy of people served.
• Knowledge of Medicaid Health Homes and integrated care services.
• Knowledge of the Michigan Medicaid Provider Manual.
• Knowledge of MH-WIN.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in the Human Services, the Social Services, Nursing, Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Management, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of professional experience in a behavioral healthcare or mental health setting.

AND

One (1) year of professional experience working in community-based programs with agencies that provide services for persons with behavioral health disorders.

REQUIRED LICENSE(S).

A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan. This position can work remotely with supervisory approval.
