Position SummaryGeneral Labour and Packhouse Labour team members play an important role in ensuring fresh produce is graded, packaged, and prepared according to customer specifications while maintaining high standards for quality, food safety, and efficiency.
Successful candidates may be responsible for:
- Grading, sorting, and packaging produce, including cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants
- Assembling cartons and containers according to customer requirements
- Inspecting products and packaging materials to ensure quality standards are met
- Completing production documentation accurately
- Verifying labels, stickers, and product information
- Maintaining clean and organized workstations
- Following food safety, quality, and sanitation procedures
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members
- Assisting with general cleaning and other operational duties as required
- Supporting production goals while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
- Can communicate effectively in English
- Are able to follow safety, quality, and production procedures
- Possess strong time management and organizational skills
- Have reliable attendance and punctuality
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
Candidates should be able to:
- Stand, walk, and move for extended periods
- Frequently bend, stretch, reach, and twist
- Regularly lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg) and occasionally up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Work in temperature-controlled packhouse and greenhouse environments
- Be comfortable working around live plants, pollination bees, and other beneficial insects
Job Requirements: The incumbent will be committed to customer service excellence and leading by example. A positive attitude in the workplace is required as is the ability to adhere to all human resources, operational and food and health safety policies and procedures.
