Job Description

Director of Marketing

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Marketing based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded marketing leader to shape and execute global B2B marketing initiatives across the US and UK. You will own positioning, product marketing, editorial strategy, demand generation, events, and sales alignment within a growing healthcare technology environment. Working with a small, collaborative team and external agency partners, you will translate established go-to-market strategies into measurable pipeline growth. A key part of the role is using advanced AI tools to accelerate content production while maintaining exceptional editorial quality and commercial relevance. You will engage enterprise healthcare systems, academic institutions, and nursing education programs through targeted campaigns and account-based marketing. This hands-on leadership position is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with executional excellence and wants to help transform healthcare education through innovative simulation technology.

Accountabilities
  • Global Marketing Strategy and Campaign Execution: Lead the end-to-end marketing campaign calendar across the US and UK, covering account-based marketing (ABM), paid and organic channels, email, content, and events. Monitor campaign performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and provide weekly updates to executive leadership on results, priorities, and pipeline impact.

  • Product Marketing and Positioning: Own product marketing, competitive positioning, messaging, and editorial strategy. Translate product capabilities, clinical outcomes, and customer success stories into compelling value propositions and differentiated commercial messaging that resonate with enterprise healthcare buyers and academic institutions.

  • AI-Driven Content Production: Produce and oversee high-quality marketing assets, including website copy, landing pages, case studies, white papers, sales collateral, social media content, and email sequences. Use AI tools such as Claude as core production infrastructure, personally directing, editing, and reviewing AI-assisted outputs to ensure accuracy, clarity, originality, and a consistently high editorial standard.

  • Account-Based Marketing and Demand Generation: Execute targeted marketing programs for named US health systems, NHS trusts, and university nursing programs across both regions. Leverage established ideal customer profiles and buyer personas to develop relevant campaigns, support demand generation, and engage complex enterprise buying committees.

  • Marketing Technology and Sales Alignment: Manage the day-to-day marketing technology stack, including HubSpot, LinkedIn advertising, analytics, and evolving ABM and intent-data tools. Collaborate closely with Sales, Account Management, and Customer Success to align marketing activities with pipeline priorities and improve lead engagement and conversion.

  • Events and Field Marketing: Lead the planning and execution of priority events in the US and UK, coordinating pre-event account-based outreach, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up. Evaluate event effectiveness based on qualified opportunities and measurable pipeline contribution rather than attendance or booth traffic alone.

  • Customer Marketing and Advocacy: Turn existing customer relationships into commercial assets through case studies, reference calls, co-marketing initiatives, testimonials, and customer advocacy programs that strengthen credibility and support sales conversations.

  • Performance Management and Budget Ownership: Establish and maintain a structured marketing operating rhythm, including weekly campaign reviews, monthly performance reporting, and quarterly planning against pipeline targets defined with executive and sales leadership. Manage the marketing budget, coordinate external agencies and contractors, maintain delivery standards, and ensure resources are allocated effectively.

Requirements
  • Professional Experience: At least 5–8 years of B2B marketing experience, including senior-level ownership of positioning, product marketing, and editorial strategy within a SaaS or health technology environment selling enterprise solutions.

  • Healthcare Market Expertise: Direct experience marketing to US health systems, with a strong understanding of complex buying committees, stakeholder alignment, and consensus-driven procurement processes. Experience engaging nursing schools and academic institutions is highly desirable, while familiarity with NHS trusts and UK universities is an advantage.

  • Advanced AI and Editorial Skills: Extensive, current, hands-on experience using AI tools such as Claude and other modern AI platforms as part of everyday marketing production. Demonstrated ability to establish quality standards, build review workflows, and refine AI-generated content into polished, accurate, commercially compelling material. Strong editorial judgment and the ability to independently improve messaging, headlines, reports, and campaign assets are essential.

  • Product Marketing and Competitive Positioning: Proven experience owning product marketing, messaging architecture, and competitive differentiation rather than simply executing campaigns based on externally defined briefs. Ability to translate complex products and outcomes into clear, persuasive value propositions for enterprise audiences.

  • Demand Generation and Marketing Technology: Practical experience executing multichannel campaigns, ABM programs, paid social, email marketing, and content-led demand generation. Familiarity with HubSpot, LinkedIn advertising, intent-data platforms, ABM tools, and marketing analytics is expected.

  • Leadership and Budget Management: Experience managing marketing budgets and coordinating external agencies, vendors, contractors, or flexible delivery teams. Comfortable setting expectations, reviewing output, managing timelines, and holding partners accountable for quality and performance.

  • Hands-On Leadership Style: A track record of operating effectively as a senior individual contributor and small-team leader, balancing strategic ownership with direct execution rather than focusing primarily on people management. Candidates should enjoy working in a lean, collaborative team where initiative, adaptability, and accountability are essential.

  • Go-to-Market Alignment: Experience delivering marketing programs within an established go-to-market strategy, translating defined commercial priorities into effective campaigns and measurable results rather than building the entire strategy from scratch.

  • Personal Attributes: Strong communication, analytical thinking, organization, and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, adaptable, and commercially focused approach, combined with attention to detail, collaborative working habits, and a commitment to continuous improvement, will be important for success.

  • Location and Availability: Based in the United States, with a preference for candidates working in the Eastern Time Zone. Willingness to travel up to 20% for customer meetings, events, and collaboration with international colleagues is required.

Benefits
  • Remote-First Flexibility: Fully remote work environment, offering flexibility to work from home in the United States.

  • Paid Time Off: 30 days of paid time off, plus 8 company holidays.

  • Healthcare Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Retirement Planning: Access to a 401(k) retirement savings plan.

  • Performance-Based Compensation: Uncapped commission opportunity, as described in the original benefits package.

  • Home Office Support: One-time $600 office setup allowance.

  • Technology Equipment: High-specification laptop and virtual reality headset to support your work.

  • Meaningful Impact: The opportunity to contribute to innovative healthcare education technology that helps institutions train and assess healthcare professionals more effectively, improve learning outcomes, and support better patient care.

  • Collaborative Culture: Join a passionate, international team that values care and pride in its work, continuous learning, adaptability, teamwork, and shared success.
