Job Title: SAP MM Functional Consultant with SAP Testing

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP MM Functional Consultant specializing in Procurement, with hands-on implementation and functional testing experience, to support Qyrus's SAP testing and automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SAP Materials Management, a thorough understanding of procurement and procure-to-pay business processes, and practical experience implementing and configuring SAP solutions in an S/4HANA environment.

Mandatory requirement: The candidate must have led at least one full SAP implementation as the Functional Lead Consultant for the MM/Procurement track. This is not a pure testing role. We are looking for someone who has configured SAP, participated in implementation decisions, and understands how procurement processes operate in real-world business environments.

The candidate should also have hands-on experience in functional testing and test automation, enabling them to translate procurement requirements, SAP configurations, and business process dependencies into comprehensive and reusable test scenarios.

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in manufacturing, Oil & Gas, supply chain, or other procurement-intensive industries. Candidates who have worked on the customer side as SAP end users, procurement super users, business process owners, or members of an SAP implementation core team will be particularly valued.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP MM Functional Consulting and Implementation

  • Lead functional implementation activities for the SAP MM/Procurement track, from requirements gathering and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
  • Conduct business requirement workshops with procurement, purchasing, inventory, finance, and supply chain stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into SAP procurement solutions and perform hands-on configuration.
  • Configure purchasing document types, document types and number ranges, purchasing groups, purchasing organizations, release strategies or workflows, and relevant procurement settings.
  • Configure and validate purchasing processes, including purchase requisitions, requests for quotation, purchase orders, outline agreements, contracts, and scheduling agreements, as applicable.
  • Prepare functional specifications and coordinate with ABAP developers and integration teams for required enhancements.
  • Understand dependencies between procurement configuration, master data, inventory management, financial accounting, and other integrated SAP processes.
  • Support data migration validation, cutover planning, go-live readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Take ownership of the MM functional track, including solution decisions, deliverables, risks, and implementation outcomes.

2. Procurement and Procure-to-Pay Process Expertise

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Design and validate scenarios covering the procurement lifecycle, from purchase requisition through purchase order, goods receipt, invoice verification, and payment integration.
  • Understand procurement models such as stock procurement, consumable procurement, service procurement, subcontracting, and third-party or intercompany procurement where applicable.
  • Validate purchasing approval processes, release strategies, flexible workflows, and procurement controls.
  • Understand supplier-related processes, source determination, purchasing information records, source lists, and source list or quota arrangements where applicable.
  • Work with procurement teams to understand operational requirements, purchasing policies, approval hierarchies, and compliance controls.
  • Identify critical business scenarios, exceptions, configuration dependencies, and integration points that require comprehensive testing.
  • Understand how procurement transactions affect inventory valuation, goods movements, GR/IR clearing, and financial postings.

3. SAP S/4HANA Implementation Experience

  • Demonstrate hands-on experience in a full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation.
  • Understand procurement-related functionality and relevant differences between SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
  • Work with SAP Fiori procurement applications and relevant purchasing workflows.
  • Understand integration between MM and FI, CO, SD, PP, QM, PM/EAM, and warehouse or logistics solutions where applicable.
  • Validate procurement master data, transactional data, configuration, and integration during implementation and migration.
  • Support testing of purchasing processes across organizational structures, plants, purchasing organizations, and company codes.
  • Identify business-critical procurement processes that require comprehensive regression testing.

4. SAP MM Functional Testing

  • Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end procurement tests.
  • Develop test scenarios based on procurement requirements, SAP configuration, functional specifications, and business process documentation.
  • Validate purchase requisitions, purchase orders, sourcing processes, approvals, goods receipts, returns, invoice verification, and procurement-related accounting postings.
  • Test integration between procurement, inventory management, accounts payable, production planning, maintenance, and other relevant modules.
  • Validate standard, exception, negative, and boundary scenarios, including approval failures, quantity or price discrepancies, blocked invoices, and incomplete master data.
  • Perform System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, smoke testing, and release validation.
  • Identify defects, perform functional root cause analysis, coordinate resolution with implementation and development teams, and validate fixes.
  • Ensure configuration changes do not adversely affect existing procurement processes or downstream financial and inventory transactions.

5. SAP Test Automation

  • Identify procurement business processes and regression scenarios suitable for automation.
  • Convert functional test scenarios into automated test cases in collaboration with automation teams.
  • Create, execute, validate, and maintain automated SAP test scripts.
  • Support automation of end-to-end procurement flows, including purchasing approvals, goods receipt, invoice verification, and relevant integration scenarios.
  • Analyze automation execution results and distinguish between application defects, configuration issues, master data problems, and automation script failures.
  • Improve test coverage, script reusability, and regression testing efficiency.
  • Contribute functional expertise to the adoption of Qyrus and other enterprise test automation platforms.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual testing effort through reusable automation and AI-assisted test generation.

6. Test Strategy and Quality Engineering

  • Apply SAP procurement implementation knowledge to identify high-risk business processes and define appropriate test coverage.
  • Develop risk-based testing approaches for S/4HANA implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and releases.
  • Identify dependencies between procurement configuration, supplier and material master data, purchasing documents, inventory, and financial postings.
  • Recommend effective approaches for procurement regression testing, test data preparation, and cross-module validation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage and reduce manual testing effort through automation.
  • Contribute to reusable test assets and standardized testing approaches for procurement-intensive SAP environments.

7. Customer Engagement and Collaboration

  • Work with procurement teams, business process owners, SAP functional consultants, QA teams, and implementation partners.
  • Participate in procurement workshops, solution walkthroughs, test planning, defect triage, and release readiness reviews.
  • Explain complex procurement processes and testing requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support Qyrus demonstrations and proof-of-value engagements using realistic SAP procurement scenarios.
  • Share functional expertise with product and engineering teams to improve SAP testing capabilities.
