Extreme Network Engineer III

This senior-level engineering role focuses on delivering advanced network design, implementation, and upgrade services within complex enterprise and data center environments. The position requires deep expertise in modern routing and switching technologies, with a strong emphasis on high-performance infrastructure and secure network architecture. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through large-scale transformations and ensuring successful delivery of mission-critical solutions. The role involves working closely with clients to align network strategies with business objectives while maintaining high standards of reliability and performance. You will operate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment where multiple priorities and technical challenges must be managed simultaneously. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential as you engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across diverse engagements.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of advanced network infrastructures across enterprise and data center environments, ensuring scalability, resilience, and performance.
  • Execute complex migrations and implementations involving routing, switching, and modern network architectures including EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical support across LAN, WAN, and security environments, ensuring rapid resolution of critical issues.
  • Collaborate with customers to define requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver end-to-end network projects.
  • Develop and apply automation or scripting approaches to streamline network configuration and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a technical advisor, supporting account teams and ensuring strong customer satisfaction throughout project lifecycles.
Requirements:
  • 5–10+ years of experience in field support, professional services, or advanced network engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in data center networking, including LAN/WAN, MPLS, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, and related protocols.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco and Juniper environments, including routers, switches, and large-scale enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot VLANs, VLAN trunking, spanning tree, and inter-VLAN routing.
  • Knowledge of security technologies such as VPN (IPSec/SSL), firewalls, and network access control solutions.
  • Experience with Linux systems, network monitoring tools, and automation/scripting for infrastructure management.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments.
  • CCIE certification or equivalent advanced networking expertise preferred.
