Job Description

The ideal candidate will be an engaged leader with a continuous improvement mindset, who has 8-10 years of experience in Leading manufacturing teams and/or Materials Management, preferably in the Automotive field.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading a team of cross functional associates in making the Production Hall successful.
- A focus on creating and maintaining a team centered work environment that is safe and provides a quality product to the customer on time.
- Works directly with Leadership Team to establish Core Company Goals and Actions.
- Owns and is accountable for the production hall performance.
- Plans and directs all hall teams to assure Goals and Actions are meet and tracked.
- Cultivate a safety first, family oriented, continuous improvement culture.
- Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
- Oversees process capabilities, OEE and other data to monitor production system performance. Works cross functionally with other team members to address opportunities for improvement with data.
- Provides management of hourly associates through Shift Leaders to ensure effective selection, development, coaching, retention, performance management, talent distribution, and disciplinary actions.
- Responsible for expense management to ensure labor planning, overtime expectations, value add contribution, direct and indirect labor percentages, and all other variable operational expenses are kept in line.
- Ensures Standard Operating Procedures within the production management system are adhered to and audited in accordance with both internal and external requirements.
- Develop annual operational budget for production including such items as labor, overtime, absenteeism, spare parts, scrap, etc.
- Audits processes within production, quality and safety for systemic improvements.
- Leads the development plan to further strengthen the operations team.
- Assist Project team in developing new products.
- Manages and develops Shop Floor and CIP teams.
- Manage all customer service, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory control, and logistics activities for business to meet customer requirements.
- Thorough working knowledge of logistics, processes and procedures
- Complete knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of material work planning, methods, and procedures
- Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best logistics terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements
- Responsible for the analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements
- Responsible for effectively planning, directing, and executing the activities of the materials team using a systems and database approach to meet the needs of the business
- Responsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.
- Responsible for acting on order releases action and exception messages and on time deliveries to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Interface with all others on material status and production planning issues.
- Negotiates with vendors for good and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantee.
- Responsible for reporting and analyzing all material metrics for leadership team
- Ensures budget rules are followed.
- Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers
- Responsible for all receiving materials, tracking, and distribution
- Manage forecast and on-time delivery from suppliers
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field preferred.
- Eight to ten years of leading Manufacturing Teams and/or Material Management experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- Proficient Computer Skills with working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, & Excel.
- Ability to perform effectively and efficiently under production and time pressures in a fast pace, culturally diverse environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication and time management skills.
- Strong process improvement, analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Planning Ahead: Think forward, anticipate issues and plan for contingencies.
- Showing Responsibility: Build awareness of responsibility to the bigger team beyond immediate work tasks and colleagues
- ERP/MRP management system experience
- Experience implementing scanner warehouse management system(s)
- Warehouse management using 5S, Kanban, FIFO and lean inventory management practices
- Experience in International Supply Chain Management
- Negotiating Skills
- Attention to Detail: Check the detail for getting quality right.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to follow directives and policies of the Company.
- Ability to hold a passport and travel internationally without accompaniment.
