Job Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for supporting the daily operations by providing administrative assistance that involves coordinating patient appointments, ensuring efficient communication between patients, healthcare providers, and all other staff. This position plays an important role in maintaining an organized front office while delivering professional and compassionate customer service to every patient.

Requirements:
  • Must be reliable, punctual and willing to travel to all offices.
  • Provide outstanding customer service including compassion, ability to assess situations, identify concerns, and give timely follow up to patients, staff and other stakeholders.
  • Be prompt in warmly greeting patients, answering multi-line phones and emails in a courteous manner. Have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and team player mentality.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and attitude in all interactions with patients, fellow staff and other stakeholders to create a positive experience.
  • Know or quickly learn to use Athena EMR and other software. Maintain accurate, timely patient data collection.
  • Regularly review the appointment schedule to optimize patient flow and reduce wait times.
  • Confirm insurance eligibility; collect co-pays and past due accounts; schedule appointments; check in/out patients; verify insurance benefits and process referrals and authorizations.
  • HIPAA Compliance – handling patient information with discretion and integrity
  • Effectively use office technology, such as fax, copier, and scanner
  • Maintain reception area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Willingness to learn new tasks and carry out assigned duties to support overall office efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

Work Location: In Person. Multi-location

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: Approximately 40 per week

Schedule: 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday

Education: Minimum High School or equivalent
Qualifications:

  • Healthcare customer service - 1 year (preferred)
  • Medical terminology - 1 year (preferred)
  • Computer skills - 1 year (preferred)
  • Front office medical receptionist: 1 year (preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: To successfully perform job responsibilities, the employee is regularly required to sit. Standing, walking, use of hands and arms to reach, the employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
