AWS Database

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AWS Database based in Brazil.

This role offers the opportunity to become a key data reference in the modernization of a high-criticality banking core.
You will help ensure absolute data integrity and equivalence between legacy environments and a new target platform throughout the migration journey.
The position combines advanced database engineering, data integration, reconciliation, and migration expertise across complex environments.
You will design data access layers, map physical structures across different technologies, and establish reliable mechanisms for identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Your work will help define the trusted source of truth across multiple data origins while supporting secure, compliant, and accurate transformations.
You will collaborate within a technology-focused environment where data modernization and cloud capabilities are central to delivering business impact.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as a technical reference for data throughout the modernization of a high-criticality banking core, ensuring consistency and integrity between legacy and target platforms.
  • Design and implement data access and integration layers connecting legacy systems with modern database environments.
  • Model, optimize, and tune Oracle databases while developing advanced PL/SQL solutions for mission-critical workloads.
  • Map physical data structures across different database technologies and identify the relationships and transformations required during modernization.
  • Design and implement data consolidation strategies across multiple sources, applying precedence rules to establish reliable Golden Records.
  • Develop reconciliation and validation mechanisms to verify data equivalence between legacy and modern systems.
  • Support Oracle-to-Amazon Aurora migrations using technologies such as AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).
  • Work with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL, MongoDB, and hybrid data environments as part of broader modernization initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, discrepancies, and migration issues while maintaining a clear source of truth across systems.
  • Apply appropriate data governance, audit, security, and compliance considerations relevant to financial-sector environments.
  • Contribute to migration planning and execution, ensuring data remains accurate, complete, and traceable throughout transition activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to investigate complex database and integration challenges and deliver robust solutions.
Requirements
  • Solid professional experience working with Oracle databases in high-criticality environments, including database modeling, performance tuning, and advanced PL/SQL development.
  • Hands-on experience developing data access layers and integrating databases with legacy systems.
  • Strong understanding of data consolidation from multiple sources and experience applying precedence logic to establish Golden Records.
  • Proven experience with data reconciliation, validation, and equivalence testing between different systems and database platforms.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Aurora, particularly PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, and familiarity with Oracle-to-Aurora migration approaches using AWS DMS and SCT.
  • Experience or working knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and hybrid data architectures.
  • Understanding of audit, governance, security, and compliance requirements within the financial-services sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and determine the underlying source of data issues.
  • Ability to work with highly critical data while maintaining accuracy, traceability, and attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams and modernization initiatives.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and/or AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate are advantageous.
  • Previous AWS Certified Database – Specialty certification or equivalent AWS database expertise is considered a strong plus.
  • For candidates residing in the Campinas Metropolitan Region, availability to work from the local offices is required in accordance with the applicable attendance policy.
