The Safety Coordinator will support Health, Safety, and Environmental programs across active operational environments, helping create safer and more efficient workplaces.
You will work closely with frontline employees, drivers, supervisors, and leadership to identify risks and strengthen day-to-day safety practices.
The role combines regulatory compliance, workplace inspections, incident investigation, training, and safety communications.
You will help ensure OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and environmental requirements are understood and consistently implemented.
Your work will directly contribute to reducing workplace risks, improving employee well-being, and building a proactive safety culture.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong floor presence, sound judgment, organization, and the ability to influence without relying on authority.
The position also offers exposure to logistics, transportation, warehouse, and multi-site safety initiatives.

• Partner with site leadership and operations teams to implement OSHA and other applicable safety requirements while reinforcing a proactive safety culture.
• Work with Transportation, Human Resources, Facilities, and frontline supervisors to integrate safe work practices into daily operations and resolve safety concerns collaboratively.
• Conduct and document routine workplace inspections and audits, identify hazards and risk conditions, and ensure corrective actions are assigned, implemented, and closed promptly.
• Support compliance with OSHA, DOT/FMCSA, and environmental regulations, including OSHA 300/300A recordkeeping and driver qualification documentation.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations by documenting findings, identifying root causes, and following up on corrective action plans.
• Deliver safety communications, toolbox talks, new-hire orientations, and recurring training covering topics such as forklift safety, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and ergonomics.
• Support emergency preparedness activities and targeted safety training initiatives as needed.
• Chair and coordinate the safety committee, including meeting schedules, agendas, minutes, and action-item tracking.
• Monitor inspection and audit findings, corrective actions, and training completion, providing status updates and escalation to leadership.
• Compile and communicate safety metrics such as TRIR, DART, near-miss rates, and open findings.
• Support special safety projects, pilot programs, and continuous improvement initiatives across operational sites.
• Maintain a visible and approachable presence on the warehouse floor and encourage employees to proactively report hazards and concerns.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 3+ years of experience across safety functions including OSHA, DOT compliance, safety policies and procedures, and loss control.
• At least 1 year of experience in logistics, supply chain, project coordination, or a related field.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain both within 90 days of hire.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety, hazard identification, corrective action management, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to conduct effective training and influence employees and leaders at all organizational levels.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and gain cooperation through credibility and relationships.
• Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational, prioritization, issue-resolution, tracking, and reporting capabilities.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with frontline teams and senior leadership.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides, along with general computer and software skills.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets applicable insurability standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including visits to other sites and ride-alongs with drivers.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts and occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call incident response when required.
• Ability to regularly walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs or ladders during inspections, and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in active warehouse, dock, and yard environments with powered industrial equipment, elevated noise, and seasonal temperature variations, while using required PPE.
• Preferred qualifications include CHST or OHST certification, EHS or fleet telematics software experience, forklift train-the-trainer experience, multi-site operations experience, and conversational Spanish proficiency.

• Annual salary range of $70,000–$80,000.
• Fully remote position with travel to operational sites as required.
