Title of position: Designer III, Structural
Position type: Full Time
Pay range: $25-$33
Location: Westminster, Colorado

General Characteristics: Perform advanced technical structural design support for midstream oil and gas projects with limited direction from experienced structural designers and engineers. Project assignments will include design tasks for large facility foundation and steel systems.
Responsibilities:
- Develop complex foundation and steel designs to fit unique project situations using pre-developed tools with limited direction from experienced designers and engineers.
- Assist with and review drawings of other less experienced designers and markup as necessary to represent a functional design with limited direction from experienced designers and engineers.
- Complex 3D modeling using pre-developed tools with limited direction from experienced designers.
- Independently lead structural design portion of mid-sized projects or multiple small projects.
- Broad understanding of foundation types/steel shapes and correct application of them.
- Basic understanding of industrial components and equipment.
- Demonstrate full understanding of the workflow from beginning to end of a project.
- Coordinates with other design teams to ensure continuous flow of information concerning other engineering disciplines affecting the design execution of a project.
- Demonstrate strong ability to functionally communicate technical and administrative project/task details, including correspondence via emails and general documentation.
- Organize and prepare drawings for delivery maintaining security and confidentiality in a timely manner.
- Understand and be able to operate Navisworks Freedom/Manage/Simulate, allowing for basic integration between engineering and design, and lead model reviews as necessary for assigned projects.
- Demonstrate professional behavior around clients and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required experience:
- Must be a self-starter with initiative, hard worker who can work with some guidance from experienced designers and as a member of a team.
- Must be detailed oriented; precise and organized in handling of drawings.
- Solid organizational skills required; must be able to prioritize and multitask.
- Typically has 3-6 years of progressive design experience or equivalent; 2 years minimum required.
- Community college and drafting/CAD courses preferred.
- Broad computer skills and proficient in Microsoft office, AutoCAD®, CADworx Structure®.
