This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Platform Engineer - Jfrog Expert based in United States.
This is a senior platform engineering role focused on building and evolving secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and delivery platforms.
You’ll play a key role in a broader digital transformation initiative, helping modernize and automate end-to-end product delivery.
The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic technical leadership across AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
You’ll design resilient cloud environments, enterprise service mesh architectures, and automated deployment workflows.
You’ll work closely with architects, developers, security teams, and customers to align technical solutions with business and regulatory requirements.
The position offers an opportunity to drive automation, improve reliability and performance, and influence cloud engineering standards across the organization.
This is a remote opportunity suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and introducing better ways of working.
- Cloud infrastructure: Build scalable, secure, efficient, and cost-effective AWS environments using Terraform and modern Infrastructure-as-Code practices, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
- Platform architecture: Design and implement enterprise-grade cloud solutions, including service mesh and sidecar architectures, with a security-first approach to availability, resilience, scalability, and performance.
- CI/CD and release automation: Develop and enhance advanced CI/CD pipelines using GitOps and tools such as ArgoCD, FluxCD, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps to support stateless, stateful, and serverless applications.
- Cloud operations: Automate infrastructure maintenance, including patching, upgrades, configuration, and lifecycle management, while keeping environments compliant and operationally healthy.
- Kubernetes and cloud-native engineering: Build and optimize containerized platforms using Kubernetes, service mesh technologies, and automated scaling solutions.
- Automation: Identify opportunities to eliminate manual processes and drive organization-wide automation across AWS infrastructure, deployment workflows, and operational activities.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with customers, architects, software engineers, and security teams to translate business and regulatory needs into effective infrastructure solutions.
- Technical innovation: Evaluate new technologies, propose improvements, contribute to cloud strategy, and help establish scalable engineering practices for future platform development.
- Engineering support: Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues and take on additional technical responsibilities as business needs evolve.
- Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 6 years of relevant industry experience; senior-level experience is strongly preferred.
- Infrastructure as Code: Extensive hands-on experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code solutions, with approximately 8+ years of experience using Terraform or comparable technologies preferred.
- CI/CD expertise: Strong experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, including GitOps technologies such as ArgoCD or FluxCD and automation platforms such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Cloud-native engineering: Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd, and automated scaling solutions such as Karpenter.
- AWS expertise: Deep hands-on experience with AWS services including EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, Step Functions, VPC, IAM, and security or firewall controls.
- Programming and scripting: Strong scripting or programming capabilities in Python, Shell, or an equivalent language, particularly for infrastructure and operational automation.
- Platform engineering: Ability to design enterprise-scale cloud platforms with a focus on security, scalability, availability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with the capacity to independently investigate complex technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to translate high-level business objectives into practical technical strategies and identify opportunities to improve automation and cloud operations.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers, architects, developers, and security teams.
- Ownership and adaptability: A proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to a continuously evolving technology environment.
- Salary: Annual full-time base salary range of $110,000–$180,000, with actual compensation determined by experience, skills, education, training, location, and market considerations.
- Bonus potential: Certain positions may be eligible for discretionary bonus compensation, subject to applicable program guidelines and eligibility.
