Job Description
Virginia Beach, VA
Come practice physical therapy the way you thought you would when you became a PT.
Thrive Proactive Health is looking for a Physical Therapist who loves figuring out the “why” behind movement dysfunction, wants to impact people’s lives, and enjoys working alongside other professionals who bring different perspectives to the table.
We’re a busy PT practice, but not a high-volume PT mill. Our clinicians are expected to think, assess, reassess, collaborate, and build individualized plans of care. We want our PTs practicing at the top of their license while still having the support of PTAs, Athletic Trainers, exercise specialist professionals, and an interdisciplinary team.
Thrive is a Certified Postural Restoration Center and an established multidisciplinary practice in Virginia Beach integrating Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, and Fitness.
If you’re curious, coachable, clinically driven, and looking for a place where you can continue developing as a clinician, we’d love to meet you.
The OpportunityWe are open to both part-time and full-time candidates.
Part-time clinicians may begin around 20–24 hours per week with the opportunity to expand as their caseload develops. Full-time opportunities are also available for the right candidate.
A typical full clinical day averages approximately 10–12 patient visits per 8-hour day. We believe productivity matters, but so do clinical reasoning, patient outcomes, documentation quality, and the overall patient experience.
What Makes Thrive DifferentYou’ll be joining a team that looks beyond simply treating where someone hurts.
Our approach encourages clinicians to consider the whole person and the relationships between posture, respiration, movement, neuromuscular control, strength, lifestyle, and the patient's individual goals.
As a PT at Thrive, you'll have opportunities to:
- Work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
- Develop deeper clinical reasoning and whole-body assessment skills
- Learn alongside clinicians trained in Postural Restoration, DNS, dry needling, manual therapy, strength and conditioning, and other integrative approaches
- Treat an active and diverse outpatient population
- Work with PTAs, ATCs, exercise specialists, and other care team members to carry out individualized plans of care
- Participate in continuing education and internal clinical development
- Grow into specialty programs, mentorship, or leadership based on your interests and strengths
We want clinicians who are always learning, but we don't expect you to arrive already knowing everything we do.
What You'll Be Responsible ForYou'll serve as the Physical Therapist responsible for the clinical management of your assigned patients, including:
- Performing initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and ongoing assessments
- Developing individualized, evidence-based plans of care and measurable goals
- Providing skilled therapeutic interventions requiring PT-level clinical decision-making
- Monitoring outcomes and modifying treatment based on objective and subjective progress
- Appropriately delegating and supervising care provided by PTAs and other members of the rehab team
- Maintaining timely, accurate, compliant documentation
- Communicating clearly with patients, caregivers, referring providers, and the clinical team
- Taking ownership of patient continuity, outcomes, and overall experience
- Contributing positively to a team that values collaboration, accountability, curiosity, and continued growth
You may be a great fit if you:
- Hold an active or eligible Virginia Physical Therapist license
- Enjoy outpatient orthopedics, sport, spine, movement, and musculoskeletal care
- Like getting to the root of the problem and solving complex movement problems rather than following the same protocol for every patient.
- Value objective testing, reassessment, and measurable progress. Test-Retest is a big part of how we drive plans of care.
- Want mentorship and growth while also being willing to take ownership of your work.
- Bring positive energy, reliability, and a willingness to learn
- Communicate well and enjoy being part of a team
Newer clinicians with strong clinical curiosity are encouraged to apply. Experience is valuable, but fit, mindset, and willingness to grow matter here.
SchedulePart-Time or Full-Time
Part-time schedules may be around 15-30 hours per week and offer providers flexibility but also the ability to grow as desired as their caseload grows. .
Full-time at Thrive is generally 36+ hours per week, depending on role and responsibilities.
We are open to discussing schedule structure with the right candidate.
Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly compensation based on experience, clinical skill, and role.
Eligible full-time employees may receive:
- Medical insurance contribution
- Dental and vision benefits
- Accrued paid time off with increased accrual based on tenure
- Six observed paid holidays
- Continuing education support
- Internal clinical training and mentorship
- Opportunities for professional and leadership growth
