This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer based in Canada.
This role is an opportunity to combine technical expertise, cybersecurity knowledge, and customer engagement in a highly consultative environment. You will help prospective customers understand how security policy management and automation can address complex enterprise networking challenges. Working closely with sales, product, engineering, and delivery teams, you will translate technical requirements into compelling solutions and demonstrations. You will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales journey, from discovery through post-sales support. The role offers exposure to large-scale enterprise networks, hybrid cloud environments, and evolving security technologies. You will also contribute to partner enablement, product feedback, and market-facing technical advocacy.
- Present the vision, capabilities, technical architecture, and value of security policy management and automation solutions through tailored presentations and product demonstrations.
- Conduct remote discovery sessions to assess prospective customers' technical requirements, business needs, and overall fit.
- Evaluate customers' maturity in security policy management and automation and recommend solutions aligned with their specific challenges and objectives.
- Build trusted technical relationships with prospects, customers, and partners, serving as a knowledgeable advisor throughout the buying journey.
- Partner closely with sales representatives to develop account strategies, support team-based selling, and advance qualified opportunities.
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical guidance, including written and verbal instructions on product usage and capabilities.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Delivery, and Product Development teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and addressed.
- Communicate product enhancement requests and customer feedback to R&D and Product Management, including the underlying business cases.
- Support, demonstrate, and train technology partners to strengthen their ability to position and deliver solutions.
- Represent the solution portfolio at industry events, virtual sessions, and other external channels, helping educate the market on cybersecurity and network automation.
- Stay current with cloud security technologies, networking trends, and the evolving enterprise cybersecurity landscape.
- 4+ years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, solutions engineering, or another comparable customer-facing technical role; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with relevant technical experience.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new cybersecurity and cloud technologies quickly.
- Hands-on understanding of networking concepts and enterprise network environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of Linux environments is an advantage.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python is desirable.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and/or GraphQL is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented sales environment while also independently managing customer-facing technical activities.
- Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and consultative skills.
- Professional fluency in English and French is required.
