Position SummaryDenali is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Class A CDL Tanker Driver to service grease traps and transport liquid and organic waste materials throughout Southern California. This position is responsible for operating pump trucks, tanker trucks, and semi-trucks equipped with tankers while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
This position requires flexibility, as the majority of our services are performed during nighttime and early morning hours. Drivers can expect daily home time while supporting regional operations.
Expected HoursThis position averages approximately 60–70 hours per week, depending on customer demand and operational needs.
Drivers must be available to work flexible schedules, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

Essential Responsibilities- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tanker trucks, pump trucks, and combination vehicles with 30–45-foot open-top dump trailers.
- Service commercial grease traps in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations.
- Transport liquid waste, wastewater, organic waste, and other approved materials throughout an assigned regional service area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of all assigned equipment.
- Complete Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs using hand tools when appropriate.
- Maintain assigned trucks and equipment in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
- Accurately complete electronic DOT logs using the company's Electronic Logging Device (ELD).
- Complete service tickets, manifests, contamination reports, maintenance records, and all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain professional communication with customers, dispatchers, vendors, and operations personnel.
- Report all accidents, injuries, equipment damage, spills, and safety concerns immediately.
- Attend safety meetings, driver training sessions, and company briefings.
- Utilize company-issued mobile devices and computer applications for routing, communication, training, and expense reporting.
- Follow all DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, environmental, and company safety regulations.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Tanker Endorsement required
- Minimum one (1) year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Clean PSP (Pre-Employment Screening Program)
- Ability to successfully pass:
- DOT Road Test
- Pre-Employment Drug Screening
- Background Check
- Must be:
- At least 23 years old with two (2) years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience; or
- At least 21 years old with one (1) year of experience if a graduate of an accredited CDL training program or possessing qualifying military driving experience.
- Stable employment history
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Experience operating vacuum tankers and pump trucks
- Experience servicing commercial grease traps
- Experience operating both manual and automatic transmission commercial vehicles
- Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (PeopleNet or similar systems)
- Hydraulic equipment experience
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent time management and route planning abilities
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and move up to 70 pounds
- Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, climb, and reach overhead throughout the workday
- Safely climb on and off commercial vehicles multiple times each day
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Tolerate odors associated with grease traps, food waste, wastewater, and agricultural materials
- Work safely around industrial equipment, pumps, hoses, and heavy machinery
