The role serves as the highest-level fiduciary authority, shaping standards and decision-making frameworks for complex client relationships. You will oversee fiduciary practices spanning trusts, estates, agency, custody, directed trusts, and related services. Working closely with executive leadership and boards, you will provide strategic guidance on fiduciary risk, governance, and new and existing business. This is an influential leadership role for an experienced fiduciary professional who combines sound judgment, regulatory expertise, and executive presence.

Accountabilities
  • Own and continuously enhance the enterprise fiduciary governance framework, including fiduciary acceptance and retention standards, directed trust governance, Trust Committee administration, discretionary action reviews, exception management, fiduciary risk reporting, and litigation oversight.
  • Establish, monitor, and adapt fiduciary policies, procedures, standards, and decision-making authorities governing fiduciary relationships.
  • Chair or participate in key fiduciary and governance committees, ensuring complex or elevated matters receive appropriate analysis, documentation, review, and escalation.
  • Maintain a consistent governance cadence covering fiduciary risk reporting, exception tracking, trend analysis, committee oversight, and escalation of significant matters.
  • Foster a culture of sound fiduciary judgment, accountability, constructive challenge, and adherence to legal, regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Advise senior leadership on fiduciary governance considerations related to new business, existing relationships, and complex trust structures.
  • Serve as the senior fiduciary subject matter expert for executive management, boards, regulators, clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, advisors, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, Trust Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced credentials such as a J.D., LL.M., MBA, CFP®, CTFA®, or comparable qualification are preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in fiduciary administration, with a minimum of 10 years in progressive leadership roles within a trust company, private bank, wealth management organization, or trust department.
  • Extensive knowledge of fiduciary law, trust administration, estate planning, fiduciary taxation, investment management, and complex wealth structures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing regulatory examinations, fiduciary audits, governance reviews, and risk oversight.
  • Strong understanding of directed and discretionary trusts, charitable structures, private trust companies, and sophisticated wealth-planning arrangements.
  • Exceptional fiduciary judgment and decision-making skills, combined with a client-first and team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong knowledge of fiduciary risk management frameworks and the ability to balance client service objectives with regulatory and fiduciary obligations.
  • Executive presence and the ability to communicate credibly with boards, regulators, attorneys, clients, beneficiaries, advisors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership, team development, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication capabilities.
Benefits
  • Executive-level opportunity with significant responsibility for fiduciary governance, risk management, and strategic leadership.
  • Opportunity to influence enterprise-wide fiduciary standards and decision-making across complex wealth and trust relationships.
  • Collaborative environment with exposure to executive leadership, boards, regulators, clients, attorneys, advisors, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Professional growth through involvement in sophisticated fiduciary, governance, regulatory, and wealth-management matters.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package aligned with the seniority and scope of the position.
  • Access to comprehensive employee benefits and resources, subject to applicable employment terms and location.
  • Supportive professional environment focused on integrity, accountability, sound judgment, and long-term client relationships.
