Looking for a Specialized Clinical Role with a Consistent Weekday Schedule?
Join Midwest Pain Clinics as an EMG Technician supporting our EMG department. You'll perform nerve conduction studies and assist with EMG testing while taking ownership of the EMG department in a supportive, patient-focused pain management environment.

Midwest Pain Clinics (MPC) provides advanced pain management services throughout Omaha and the surrounding region. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on identifying the underlying causes of pain and helping patients improve function and quality of life. MPC offers interventional procedures, neurostimulation, ketamine therapy, genicular artery embolization, and other advanced treatments. Our patient-focused approach combines compassionate care with innovative treatment options.
What You'll Do
As an EMG Technician, you'll perform nerve conduction studies and support physician-directed EMG testing while ensuring accurate diagnostic information and a positive patient experience.
- Perform NCS and assist the supervising physician with needle EMG testing.
- Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, and apply surface and/or needle electrodes.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain EMG/NCS equipment; identify and report technical issues.
- Accurately document waveform data, testing parameters, patient information, and results in the EHR.
- Monitor patients during testing and report abnormal responses or concerns to the physician.
- Clean and disinfect equipment and electrodes between patients.
- Verify patient identity, physician orders, and required authorization before testing.
- Communicate with patients, physicians, and clinical staff regarding testing and scheduling.
- Maintain EMG/NCS supply inventory and order replacement materials as needed.
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection-control, documentation, and practice requirements.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and maintain required competency and certification.
- Perform other clinical support duties as assigned.
Required
- Previous experience performing EMG/NCS testing.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- RNCST certification through ABRET, or active pursuit of certification within the timeframe established by the practice.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Working knowledge of peripheral nerve and muscle anatomy.
- Proficiency with EMG/NCS equipment, related software, and EHR systems.
- Accredited EMG/NCS or neurodiagnostic technology training.
- At least one year of clinical NCS experience.
- Experience in pain management, neurology, physiatry, or spine care.
- Outpatient clinical experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
- Ability to explain procedures clearly and ease patient anxiety.
- Effective communication with physicians, APPs, and clinical staff.
- Ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to take ownership of the EMG department and maintain an efficient workflow.
