JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Works with the Nursing Manager/Supervisor to ensure accurate patient tracking and data entry. Responsible for interpreting, entering and auditing appropriate nursing charges using the SHS computer program. Performs additional duties as appropriate.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
-
Ambulatory Infusion staff are knowledgeable in the care of patients with cancer, autoimmune diseases, infections and more. We provide expert care to the patients and all of their infusion needs.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
High school diploma or equivalent required.
-
One (1) year of relevant patient care experience (CNA, Certified Medical Assistant, or technician) or medical office/unit clerk experience including medication coding required.

Experience or training in medical terminology, health care delivery systems and reimbursement systems required.

Previous hospital experience preferred.

Time Management: Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.

Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.

Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Social Perceptiveness: Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.

Computer Literacy: Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software. Ability to operate applications, enter data, and manipulate and process information. Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and information systems.
