Job Summary
This position is responsible for supervision of Financial Clearance. Responsibilities include completing error tracking, monitoring staff productivity and holding staff accountable for completing pre-registrations and pre-authorizations with accuracy in an efficient and effective manner. Responsible for monitoring staff compliance for following all regulations that impact financial clearance. Holds staff accountable for an exceptional Patient Experience.
This role will also be responsible for building and providing accurate price estimates for patients prior to service. The Supervisor will assist in vendor selection and perform regular monitoring and have on going communications with vendor partners to ensure timely and efficient processes are being followed and positive outcomes are being delivered.
Compensation
We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The wage range for this position is $30.00 — $42.35 per hour. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
Key Accountabilities
- Supervises the day-to-day activity of prior authorization, insurance verification, pre-registration and price estimate functions
- Supervises staff within this department to ensure workflow processes are established, followed accurately and efficiently
- Assist in developing and implementing financial access strategies that directly impact organizational revenue performance, bad debt reduction and patient satisfaction metrics.
- Support initiatives that prioritize a transparent, empathetic and supportive financial journey for all patients.
- Establish and work collaboratively with vendor partners to ensure streamlined and efficient workflows as established and result in positive outcomes.
- Train, lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and service excellence.
- Partner with other departments throughout NH&C to optimize front-end processes, minimize denials and drive revenue cycle efficiency.
- Involved in hiring, onboarding and performing staff reviews, ensuring key performance indicators are met.
- Ability to identify workflow improvements and manage quality standards
- Monitor and trend denials related to financial clearance. Make recommendations and support needed change for improved resolution.
- Provides support to Revenue Cycle on Access related issues.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or health administration or related field
- 2-5 years of healthcare experience in Patient Access, Financial Clearance or related experience with at least 1+ years of Supervisory experience
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment
Schedule
- 80 hours per two-week pay period
- Onsite at Northfield Hospital with potential for hybrid work
