Job Description

Debris Operations Manager Reports to: Project Manager
Location: Noblesville, IN

THIS IS A TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYPosition SummaryWe are a growing consulting firm expanding our Tidal Basin Group team and have an opportunity for a talented Debris Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for overall debris management and monitoring operational activities and requires attention to detail and team building skills as well as Debris Monitoring experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible oversight and quality assurance of debris monitoring field operations.           
  • Coordinate with Debris Removal Contractor’s staff to develop daily work schedule.
  • Develop daily field supervisor and monitor schedules and truck assignments.
  • Develop training class schedules and retraining schedules as necessary
  • Responsible for implementation of electronic ticketing system.
  • Responsible for Daily morning sign in and evening sign out procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality of data being collected by monitors
  • Responsible for implementing a field QA/QC procedure for operational documentation being turned in by monitors and field supervisors
  • Create daily safety messages and hold morning safety meetings
  • Dissemination of information provided by the Project Manager or from client engagements.
  • Coordinate with the project’s Data Manager to address data collection errors as close to real time as possible
  • Must be able to answer questions from field staff on eligibility and debris monitoring and collection best practices
  • Resolve conflict that may arise in the field in a professional and respectful way
Skills and CompetenciesThe candidate should possess the following:
  • Prior Debris Field Supervisor experience.
  • Prior Debris Operations Manager experience
  • Possess Microsoft office knowledge
  • Have a working knowledge of FEMA’s PA program as it relates to Category A work.
  • Positive, friendly, courteous customer and client skills.
  • Capacity to build a strong team, be a team leader, and share knowledge
  • Good teamwork and cooperation skills.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work instructions.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in English and write legibly.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, motor vehicle, and criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid State Driver's License.
  • Possess a cellular phone with vehicle charger.
  • Ability to drive and work in areas with disaster and harsh outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to supervise others effectively and positively.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Prior Debris Monitoring Experience

Field Work/Physical Demands/Work Schedule
  • Ability to work as early as 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week during response period: with occasional hours of 14-18 hours per day.
  • Ability to work up to 100+ hours per week as needed during response period, including weekends.
  • Ability to drive and work in areas with disaster and harsh outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders, trucks, and platforms up to 20 feet
  • Ability to work in high temperatures with high humidity for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in disaster-impacted areas and austere environments.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Capability to work in adverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and uneven terrain.
