About the role
- Join our pioneering team at Westwin Elements Inc. and be part of an exciting journey towards establishing the first domestic Nickel Refinery in the United States. Utilizing Ni Carbonyl technology with a century-long legacy in Canada and the U.K., you'll work alongside our experienced carbonyl experts. Learn and apply the fundamentals of Nickel Carbonyl refining operations in a Demonstration plant setting and contribute to future commercial scale-up facilities.
What you'll do
- Safely operate and monitor the nickel carbonyl process, ensuring high-purity nickel product production.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols and guidelines for a secure working environment.
- Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate repairs.
- Monitor process parameters and adjust as necessary for efficiency and quality.
- Conduct quality checks on the nickel carbonyl product.
- Ensure environmental compliance regarding emissions, waste, and pollution control.
- Respond to emergency situations following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of process data, production, maintenance, and safety.
- Collaborate with colleagues to optimize process performance.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in an plant setting.
- Basic understanding of industrial equipment and control fundamentals (e.g., compressors, blowers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, etc.).
- Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols diligently.
- Capacity to collaborate with diverse teams effectively.
- Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving within established guidelines.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Candidate must pass a background check.
