Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Food Safety Assistant to assist with compliance with all food safety protocols and regulations. This role functions as the SQF Practitioner backup. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in food safety, strong organizational skills, and a hands-on approach to managing compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Overseeing Programs for maintaining SQF practices.

• Printing product labels
• Overseeing cleaning/sanitizing program.
• Attention to detail is key!

Training and oversight is provided for all job duties.

The successful candidate will be assisting Standard Quality Foods (SQF) practitioners with maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard of Quality Foods. The position requires an individual with several attributes, including:

Key Responsibilities:

· SQF Practitioner backup

· Food Safety Team Member.

· Oversee Environmental Monitoring Program

· Conduct ATP and Rapid Protein Testing

· Oversee calibration of equipment

· Prepare job packets and product labels for production and fulfillment.

· Conduct Internal Audits and inspections

· Assist in monitoring and enforcing adherence to food safety standards, including FDA, HACCP, and other relevant guidelines.

· Train and educate employees on food safety protocols and best practices to foster a culture of safety and quality.

· Assist in investigating and addressing food safety incidents, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

· Experience in food safety or quality assurance in a wholesale food manufacturing environment preferred.

· HACCP certification preferred.

· Knowledge of HACCP principles, Preventive Controls, food safety regulations, and manufacturing processes preferred.

· SQF Practitioner Backup. Knowledge of SQF Code and requirements or other GFSI standards.

· PCQI knowledge.

· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
